Nneka Ihim Says Wendy Osefo Plotted to ‘Ambush,’ and ‘Embarrass’ her On ‘RHOP’

Nneka Ihim believes that Wendy Osefo’s purported scheme to “ambush” and “embarrass” her is what led to Wendy’s mother allegedly submitting her name to a sinister shrine.

Nneka Ihim

The Real Housewives of Potomac newbie, who is reportedly from the same Nigerian tribe as Wendy, spoke to Page Six about the backstory behind the cast drama.

Wendy, 39, claimed that she didn’t know Nneka, 36, but the pair later agreed that Wendy’s sister-in-law, Ivy, used to be close friends with Nneka’s cousin-in-law, Lebe.

Nneka told the outlet that the duo clashed on camera after a series of phone calls went down ahead of filming season. She said that the conversations were marked by “hostility and aggression and venom.” Nneka alleged that Wendy and Ivy called Lebe and “suggested” that they “ambush” the RHOP newcomer to “embarrass [her] on national television.”

Nneka claimed that Lebe “literally begged them” not to but that “they still wanted to go on hating” her. Wendy’s mother, Iyom, supposedly told Lebe that she was praying against Nneka and her family, in the final phone call.

“I was literally terrified when I received that phone call [from Lebe] of what was done to my name, you know? Submitting someone’s name to a shrine is for death and destruction,” Nneka said.

She added — “So to learn that they thought this scenario was serious enough to do that? I am afraid.”

Wendy denied the claim amid repeated aired mentions of her Catholic faith. However, the reality star’s credibility took a hit when she shared a post that ripped co-star, Mia Thornton, penned by her mother.

“Well, well. Ugly inside and out, crater-face Mia – a bombastic, ignorant, nonsensical, baseless, wannabe-CEO troublemaker,” Wendy read from her phone to her co-stars. “To hell with Mia and [‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ alum Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband] Peter [Thomas]. Oh, yes, I say Holy Ghost fire on Mia and Peter, and thunderstorm. Amen.”

Mia had endured months of health, financial, marital, and legal struggles  when Wendy recited her mother’s rant.

Nneka shared her thoughts on the scene, sharing—“If you’ll notice, I didn’t say anything. When we’re sitting there, I just watched the two parties involved hash that out.”

She added — “I mean, I think I just thought that it was a lot. It was a lot. And it was unprovoked. I don’t think it was necessary. But that just seems to be the way that her mother handles things, and she’s allowed to do whatever she wants to do – within the confines of the law.”

Several cast members believe that Wendy didn’t want Nneka to join the group, and some hinted that jealousy was in play.

“Unfortunately, I do feel that that was the case,” Nneka stated.

“Like I said, things that happened prior to the cameras showing up kind of led me to that conclusion, [which were] consistent with the things that she did while the cameras were rolling. So ultimately, she didn’t want me there. And you know, it’s not her decision. God has blessed me, and here I am.”

Nneka added that she would be willing to make amends, despite Wendy dismissing any hope for a reconciliation.

“I forgive and I forget, and I’m happy to move on with anyone who’s going to move on as well,” she said.

Nneka admitted that co-star, Ashley Darby, was “messy” in the way she dished the info to Wendy, but clarified that Ashley “didn’t understand how serious of nature the topic was that she was relaying.”

Ashley apologized profusely. She cleaned it up immediately,” Nneka explained. “And I think, hopefully, she’s learned her lesson, and she’ll be careful about what she’s misrepresenting to people.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs on Sundays, at 8 pm ET, on Bravo.
