Mama June, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson and Family Attend Funeral for Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell
In a solemn gathering at the Williams White-Columns Funeral Home in Gordon, Georgia, family, friends, and loved ones convened on Wednesday to pay their final respects to Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, the reality star who tragically passed away at the age of 29 after a valiant year-long battle with cancer.
Among those mourning was Mama June Shannon and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, who were seen uniting with attendees in the intimate lobby of the funeral home to honor the memory of their beloved family member. The late reality star, a mother of two, left a profound impact on those she knew, prompting a significant turnout for her funeral service.
In a heartfelt tribute to the family’s request for privacy and respect during this difficult time, a sign prominently displayed in front of the funeral home politely asked guests to refrain from using their cellphones inside the premises. This gesture underscored the family’s desire for a solemn and undisturbed ceremony to commemorate the life of Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, whose untimely death has left a void in the hearts of many.
Ahead of the solemn service, 18-year-old Alana Thompson was observed outside the funeral home, where she found comfort in the company of her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell. The pair, standing together in a moment of quiet support, gathered with others to pay their respects and honor the memory of Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell.
The funeral service for Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell was held a mere four days following her passing. Anna had been bravely fighting stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, a diagnosis she received in January, marking a swift and somber progression to her untimely death.
At the service held to remember the late Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, guests were given a program that featured a touching poem and a photograph to memorialize the reality star. Within the program, she was also referred to by the name Anna Marie Toney, offering a glimpse into the personal aspects of her life. In a revelation that came to light just one day after her passing, ET disclosed that Anna had solemnly tied the knot shortly after receiving her devastating cancer diagnosis earlier in the year, marking a poignant chapter in her final months.
A marriage license revealing that Anna and her partner, Eldridge Toney, exchanged vows on March 4 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. The document further disclosed that the ceremony was officiated by Josh Efird, Anna’s brother-in-law and the husband of Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, marking a significant family moment amidst Anna’s challenging battle with her health.
In a heartfelt move, Mama June extended an open invitation to the public via Instagram for Anna’s funeral service, just two days prior to the event. She shared the details of the arrangements, emphasizing the inclusive spirit with which the family was approaching this difficult time.
