Alexis Bellino Trying to Downplay Stealing Shannon Beador’s ex-boyfriend, John Janssen

Alexis Bellino dished the backstory behind the photo that revealed the former Bravo star getting cozy with Shannon Beador’s ex-boyfriend, John Janssen, in a recent interview with EXTRA. 

Alexis Bellino is rumored to be returning to the Real Housewives of Orange County, to stir up drama with Shannon as Janssen’s new love interest. 

Alexis spoke to Teddi Mellencamp about the widely circulated image of herself alongside Janssen at a local restaurant. The RHOC alum called the pair’s meeting “totally happenstance.”

“I was in my booth,” she said. “He came in and sat here. People were like, ‘You guys need to talk.’”

Alexis, who called the pair’s first meeting “amazing,” noted—“It was not planned.”

She said that she told nearby friends not to post any photos because both she and Janssen were “newly broken up.” She denied that Janssen wanted the pic to explode online, but confirmed that they had been communicating, via text.  

Alexis also explained why she was recently spotted with her ex-fiancé, Andy Bohn.

“We’re still broken up … There’s no going back … It’s just, you can still be friends, right? … We did spend the holiday together only because I feel like it was something we needed for ourselves and our kids,” the Bravo alum explained. 

She labeled Janssen only “a good friend,” but a source recently told People that the two are officially dating. 

“Currently, they’re not using labels like boyfriend or girlfriend, but they’ve been spending a lot of time together and have been enjoying learning about each other,” a source told the outlet.

The insider claimed that Alexis and Janssen have a common bond, explaining—”The two have been supportive companions as they navigate newly single life. This common background paired with a mutual attraction has made it easy for Alexis and John to form a natural connection.”

“John Janssen and I are two people who met by happenstance,” Alexis told Page Six last month. “We are discovering that we’re in similar places in our lives, as divorced parents both emerging from recent heartbreak because of relationships ending.”

“I look forward to hanging out with my new friend,” she said.

The budding romance comes amid rumors that Alexis could return for the upcoming 18th season of the Bravo series, which begins production in January. Alexis departed RHOC at the conclusion of Season 8 after appearing for four seasons. Shannon joined the cast in 2013, for Season 9. 

RHOC cast member, Emily Simpson, is on board with Alexis returning to the series to rattle Shannon. 

“I want to see that! That is good TV,” the 47-year-old told Page Six. “I’m sorry, but bring Alexis back and let Shannon spiral out of control.”

Last month, sources told told Radar Online that Shannon would confidently take on filming season even with Alexis in the group, because she believes  that her friends will have her back.

“I think she has enough allies on that show,” one insider said, adding — “Especially if they bring Vicki (Gunvalson) back.”

Shannon revealed last month that she had not communicated with her ex in over a month. Shannon and John broke up in November 2022.
