1000-lb Sisters: Details Surrounding Tammy Slaton’s Ex-Husband Caleb Willingham’s Death Revealed

Details surrounding the death of Caleb Willingham, the late husband of 1000-lb Sisters star, Tammy Slaton, have been revealed. 

Caleb passed away at Ohio rehab facility, Windsor Lane Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, in June. A responding officer guarded the room where Caleb was found unresponsive, until a forensic investigator from the Sandusky County Medical Examiner’s office arrived, according to a Radar Online report.

The 40-year-old was pronounced dead on June 30, 2023 after “life-saving measures with unsuccessful results” were administered.

Gibsonburg Police Department investigators were unable to reach Caleb’s doctor for information regarding his medical history and any pre-existing condition that could have played a role in his death, per the police report. 

The police report stated — “The death was then turned over to the Sandusky County Coroner Office due to the EMS Captain being unable to make contact with the patient’s personal physician.”

“This Officer was advised that (a forensic) investigator would be responding. The officer remained at the door of the room to ensure the scene was secure until (the) investigator arrived.”

Caleb’s body was transported to the coroner’s office where an autopsy was performed, despite the forensic investigator determining that his death was “natural,” due to a “medical issue.”

A rep from the medical examiner’s office confirmed that they were waiting for toxicology test results from the completed autopsy in order to determine the actual cause of death. 

“Medical staff were on-scene with the patient when he became unresponsive,” the police report stated. “During this Officer’s involvement with the incident, there were no indications of any criminal activity. This death investigation is concluded by this department.”

Tammy and Caleb wed in November 2022, in a ceremony documented on the show. The pair connected and tied the knot at the Ohio facility, but split a few months later. An insider told the U.S. Sun at the time that Tammy was in the process of filing for divorce at the time of Caleb’s death. 

Tammy, 36, reportedly decided to part ways with her husband because he lacked commitment to his weight loss program. The source claimed that the dynamic played a significant role in their separation.

In August, a snitch claimed that Tammy had been slamming TLC for portraying her late husband’s funeral in a way that was “completely not natural” for reality series, “1000-lb Sisters.” 

Tammy purportedly told the outlet’s source that her husband’s memorial service “wasn’t that sad” despite the show’s dark narrative. The insider alleged that Tammy ripped the network for intentionally “forcing drama” to bring in ratings. 

The tipster alleged that Tammy said — “The filming of the funeral was ‘completely not natural’ and things were put in there to make it seem sad when it really wasn’t that sad.”

The reality star reportedly added that during the service “people were having fun, but [TLC producers] made it depressing.”
