‘RHONY’ Alum Luann de Lesseps Accused of Acting Like a “Karen” Because She Wasn’t Catered To!
Robyn Dixon called out Luann de Lesseps during a recent episode of her podcast, accusing the “Real Housewives of New York City” alum of “going off” and “tearing people apart” at a restaurant while attending BravoCon 2023.
The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star addressed the rumored incident while chatting with her co-star and “Reasonably Shady” co-host, Gizelle Bryant.
Robyn dished that her makeup artist spilled that she saw Luann “going off on people” in the eatery, for not offering breakfast during the Las Vegas fan event.
“‘She [was] pissed because [the restaurant] is not open for breakfast,’” Robyn shared, repeating her makeup artist’s words. “‘She is just tearing people apart and going off on [people].’”
Robyn explained that the makeup pro, who doesn’t regularly watch Bravo, didn’t initially know that the woman was Luann, but referred to a female who was “tall with brown hair.” Robyn added that she confirmed her identity after the duo passed Luann in a hallway.
Robyn said — “She was like, ‘yeah, that’s the lady.’”
Gizelle pointed out that Luann could have simply ordered room service, which was available around the clock.
A fan noted that Luann was acting like a “privileged Karen, ranting and raving because she couldn’t get her way.”
Luann is set to star in the fourth season of “Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip” which premieres on Peacock next month.
The former countess will appear alongside fellow RHONY alums, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Kristen Taekman. The throwback cast jetted to St. Barts in June, to begin production. Longtime fans will recall that several members of the cast visited the island during RHONY Season 5. Luann secretly partied the night away with Tomas Ribiero, a Johnny Depp doppelgänger, sparking rumors of a scandalous fling. Andy Cohen arranged a virtual reunion between Luann and Tomas in August 2020 on “Watch What Happens Live,” but there’s been no confirmation that “the pirate” will appear on the Peacock series.
“I don’t know, I think we’d all love to see the pirate again, don’t you?” Luann teased in a January interview with PEOPLE, pitching the potential RHONY-themed series.
The upcoming season is titled “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy,” giving a nod to the spinoff that Andy Cohen promised fans amid the network’s decision to reboot the original franchise with a brand new cast. Contract negotiations fell apart back in January, which ultimately sunk the highly anticipated series.
Jill Zarin, who was originally recruited for the new show, later claimed that negotiations crumbled after she asked that all cast members be paid the same figure. It remains unclear if her demand was what ultimately led to the demise of the series.
Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy premieres on December 14.
