‘Sister Wives: One-on-One’ Kody Brown Blames Christine For Destroying His Marriage to Janelle

Kody Brown is not happy that his two ex wives, Christine Brown and Janelle Brown, have formed a close bond.

Kody spoke out about the dynamic during the first part of the “Sister Wives: One on One” special, which aired Sunday night.

The “Sister Wives” patriarch opened up to host, Sukanya Krishnan, about feeling “betrayed” by Janelle for seemingly choosing Christine over their spiritual marriage.

“I’m supposed to be the head of the family and I’ve been undermined completely here,” he said. “It’s just you’re in a tough spot and you are questioning yourself do I put more effort into this or not? And I think Janelle and I both — this is not an accusation. Janelle and I have both seen so little value in the relationship that we have not made those steps to bring it back together.”

Kody went on to assert that “Janelle sees more value in the relationship with Christine than she does in the relationship with me.”

Sukanya pointed to the aired blowout fight that led to the couple’s breakup,  asking Kody how he was impacted by the game-changing argument.

Kody, 54, replied — “That moment, I was thinking to myself, I don’t ever want to talk to Janelle again. I felt so betrayed.”

The host asked Kody’s fourth and last wife standing, Robyn Brown, how she reacted to the explosive exchange.

Robyn 45, recalled telling her husband to “go work it out” with his second wife, and to “go talk to her.”

“And it’s weird to me because I kept saying, ‘You guys have how many years together? You have six kids,'” Robyn said. “That’s worth looking at, you know? I said that to him over and over.”

The mom of five tearfully added that the duo’s 30 year marriage was “worth fighting for.”

Janelle weighed in on how she felt after telling Kody off, as cameras rolled.

The 52-year-old said that she felt “pretty emotional for a few minutes” after the fight, due to the “emotional shock of it.” She noted that the argument was one for the record books, adding that she felt as if a “huge burden had been lifted.”

Janelle added that she felt “relieved” that she “didn’t have to keep putting effort into this relationship anymore with Kody.”

Christine Brown announced that she was leaving Kody in November 2021. Janelle did the same during last season’s “One on One” special. Kody’s first wife, Meri Brown, confirmed that she and Kody had decided to officially part ways in January. Season 18 documented the family fallout in the wake of the plural marriage collapse.
