NeNe Leakes Cuts Ties With Bethenny Frankel Amid her Reconciliation With Andy Cohen and Return to ‘RHOA’
NeNe Leakes has cut ties with Bethenny Frankel as she rekindles her relationship with Bravo in preparation for her highly-anticipated return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
This Monday, NeNe Leakes stirred social media excitement when she deleted all references to her controversial interview with Bethenny Frankel and a post announcing their collaboration as co-hosts for Bethenny’s “Reality Reckoning” podcast. It didn’t take long for fans to notice that the official Bravo TV Instagram and Twitter accounts had re-followed the RHOA fan favorite.
Monday’s developments occurred following an earlier incident this month when Andy Cohen, while interacting with a fan, hinted at the possibility of burying the hatchet with NeNe and welcoming her return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
“I’m a nostalgic guy. She and I came up together and there’s always room in my heart for, you know, everybody,” Andy Cohen told a fan during BravoCon in Las Vegas in November.
When a fan asked the Bravo executive if NeNe could ever win back her peach, he responded— “Who knows? I mean, she asked me a few years ago to keep her name out of my mouth, so I try to respect that.”
Social media exploded with speculation about NeNe’s return to Bravo. One person wrote, “Bravo followed Nene again. I’m so shook!”
Another fan tweeted, “Oop! After Andy Cohen said he has “room in his heart” for Nene Leakes at #BravoCon Nene deleted all traces of Bethenny’s ‘Reality Reckoning’ from her IG Bethenny still has the interview clips and the photos still up on her IG.”
Someone else commented, “Wait… Bravo follows Nene and she deleted all the pics with her & Bethenny down from her Instagram.”
“BRAVO IS FOLLOWING NENE. SHES COMING BACK HOMEEEE.” An excited viewer shared.
NeNe’s association with Bravo has been strained in recent years, particularly after she made allegations of racial discrimination involving both the network and Andy Cohen. NeNe had been a fixture on The Real Housewives of Atlanta during Seasons 1-7 and 10-12 before deciding to depart in 2020.
In April 2022, NeNe initiated legal proceedings against Bravo, NBC Universal, Andy Cohen, as well as production companies True Entertainment and Truly Original. In her lawsuit, she accused the defendants of breaching federal employment and anti-discrimination laws and contended that the production companies concealed multiple instances involving her former co-star, Kim Zolciak. The lawsuit alleged that Kim had employed racial stereotypes and slurs directed at her Black co-stars over an extended period.
Subsequently, NeNe, aged 55, decided to withdraw her legal action against Bravo due to contractual obligations. These contractual agreements mandate that disputes between the network and its stars must be resolved through arbitration rather than in a court of law.
In May 2022, NeNe made allegations that the network had blacklisted her as a result of her vocal stance on her concerns. Then, in August 2022, NeNe seemed to criticize the host of Watch What Happens Live on Twitter.
