‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ What’s Behind the Collective HATE for Monica Garcia?
Monica Garcia has injected a shot of fresh drama into the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and while fans might be cheering the rookie on, she is reportedly not so popular with the Season 4 cast.
Monica raised eyebrows from the get-go, after announcing that she had engaged in a scandalous affair with her husband’s brother. She candidly shared about her problematic relationship with her mother and verbally sparred with Lisa Barlow, early in the season.
TVLine spoke to the Utah ladies last month at BravoCon 2023, who offered some insight on the growing rift between Monica and the entire cast.
Heather Gay told the outlet that Monica had not been embraced by the group because “We have some great history and so many layers to our friendships. We’re a tight, hard group to infiltrate, I guess.”
Angie Katsanevas implied that Monica had been less than supportive of the group as she navigated her debut season.
“I think that the biggest thing that I learned is, just the friendships,” she said. “And how important it is to support friends and be truthful and be honest. You know, sometimes we talk, but to always be supportive.”
Heather failed to mention the off-screen legal drama between Monica and her business, Beauty Lab and Laser LLC. The legal tangle began ahead of the Season 4 premiere.
Monica reportedly agreed to a months-long arrangement to pay for a series of “cosmetic injections,” according to Beauty Lab’s legal team. The lawsuit claimed that Monica made an initial payment of $449 and agreed to subsequent monthly installments of $200 for ten months. Beauty Lab contends that Monica defaulted on the payments following her initial installment.
Monica’s lawyers filed a counterclaim in September, asserting that no further payments were made because the injections Monica received were improperly administered and failed to produce the promised results. Her lawyers argued that Beauty Lab’s services were subpar, did not meet industry standards and failed to fulfill the promised care, thereby entitling Monica to withhold further payment.
Monica’s lawyers claimed that Beauty Lab’s complaint stemmed from Heather’s personal grudge against her co-star— not from any legitimate legal position. They are seeking damages for the alleged harm caused by Beauty Lab’s negligence and breaches, as well as legal fees and other costs.
Monica confirmed during the Las Vegas fan event that she was not on speaking terms with Lisa, nor with any of her other cast mates. She told the outlet that she wouldn’t be mixing with her co-stars during the Bravo bash.
Monica is only clashing with Lisa at this point in Season 4, which raises questions over what ultimately went down between the newbie and the rest of the ladies.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays, at 9 pm ET, on Bravo.
