Kim Zolciak’s Shocking Denial: Closet Clear-Out Unconnected to $230k Court Ruling!
Kim Zolciak’s Shocking Denial: Closet Clear-Out Unconnected to $230k Court Ruling!
Kim Zolciak has claimed that her recent closet sell-off had nothing to do with being hit with a $230k court ruling, last month. Kim and her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, were ordered to pay Simmons Bank over $230,000 after they defaulted on a home equity line of credit, per a TMZ report.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum responded to an inquisitive fan who wanted to know why she was selling her possessions, during a Thursday Q&A on her Instagram Stories.
Kim ignored her ongoing financial and marital issues, telling the follower that she had “a ton of stuff I bought over the years so selling what I don’t want. That’s all ❤️.”
In July, Kim made headlines after she began hawking her daughter, Brielle Biermann’s designer duds for up to $20k a pop. The mom of six offered the 26-year-old’s $5,500 Chanel purse, which featured hot pink trim. A pair of “adorable” Louis Vuitton shoes were priced at $500, a limited edition bag at $10k, a Chanel purse for $7,000 and a new pair of Prada boots for $700. The highest priced item, a Louis Vuitton Keepall duffel bag, was priced at $20k.
The reality TV couple has taken multiple financial hits over the last year while navigating their on-again-off-again divorce.
The pair’s Milton, Georgia mansion was set to be auctioned off in February before a deal was struck to hang on to the property, due to Kim and Kroy defaulting on a $1.65 million loan obtained in 2016. Kroy asked a judge to allow the couple to sell the house themselves after they were slammed with a $1.1 million lien, courtesy of the IRS. Kroy noted that the house would land in foreclosure if they were unable to sell it due to Kim’s “reckless spending habits and love for online gambling.”
Meanwhile, Kim was facing a lawsuit filed by Saks/Capital One for not making payments on more than $150k in bills and fees. The couple was also sued by Rolls Royce for missing payments on their $400,000 Rolls Royce Cullinan.
In June, Target hit the duo with a lawsuit alleging they were owed a balance of $2,482.24.
The couple recently put their Georgia mansion on the market after the former Atlanta Falcons linebacker pleaded with a judge to allow it so they could pay down their “significant debt.” The judge agreed, and the estate is currently listed for $6 million.
Last month, the pair was ordered to stay away from each other while living under the same roof amid their ongoing divorce war.
The judge presiding over the case ordered that the former Bravo star and the former pro athlete stay apart while living together in the family home. Police have been dispatched to the residence several times since the couple announced their breakup, earlier this year.
The court ruled that Kim would have exclusive use of the basement and the nanny quarters and Kroy would have the master bedroom.
The order stated — “Neither party shall enter the other party’s individually awarded space in the marital residence without permission. The parties shall share the common areas of the Marital Residence.”
The judge also ruled that both parties “shall civilly towards one another – especially in the presence of the minor children.”
