Kroy Biermann Accused of Dodging Lawsuit Over Sky-High Credit Card Debt!
Kroy Biermann is being accused of ignoring a lawsuit involving unpaid credit card debt amid his rollercoaster divorce from Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, Kim Zolciak.
Court documents revealed that Discover Bank is asking for a default judgement in the amount of $11,275 against the former Atlanta Falcons linebacker.
Back in July, Kroy was hit with a civil lawsuit that claimed that he was refusing to pay his credit card bill.
Discover alleged in the suit that the ex NFL player was given a credit card but failed to keep up with the required payments. The company alleged that Kroy had refused to pay his balance of $11,275.45.
The bank demanded that Kroy not only cough up the unpaid balance but also be required to pay their legal fees. The last billing statement showed a minimum payment of $2,055 due on May 22, 2023. The Discover bills revealed that Kroy made numerous payments to cover Xbox and Uber Eats expenditures.
The $11k debt is a drop in the bucket compared to the massive figure the reality TV couple reportedly owes the Internal Revenue Service. The government filed a lien on the duo for owing taxes totaling $1,147,834.67, for the years 2013-2018.
The on-again-off-again couple’s Atlanta area home is currently on the market for $6 million. Earlier this month, the couple went to court to beg a judge to call off a scheduled foreclosure auction on the property. Kim claimed that her children would be “homeless” if the auction went forward.
Kim stated in her request — “Our primary concern revolves around the home that we share, in which we have invested not only our finances but also our memories. The bank holds the mortgage for this property. and we are also burdened with a Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and unresolved IRS obligations.”
The latest financial drama comes as the “Don’t Be Tardy” alums continue to put out mixed messages regarding their ongoing split.
Over the weekend, Kim Zolciak reclaimed her married name, Biermann, on social media after the couple celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary with a cozy dinner date. The former Bravo star dumped the moniker back in June, after the filing of the first of two divorce petitions.
On Saturday, Kim took to her Instagram Story to share that she was enjoying an Italian dinner with Kroy to mark the pair’s 12-year milestone.
Last month, Kroy was by Kim’s side during a pricey vaginal rejuvenation procedure.
“Kroy came with her to help her out. It’s a big surgery,” a tipster told Us, describing the pair’s bond as “bizarre.”
The insider added — “They’re going through a divorce, talk badly about each other, then travel together.”
