Teresa Giudice Booed at BravoCon For Protecting Her Peace
Teresa Giudice was booed by a BravoCon audience over the weekend after dismissing the idea of reconciling with her brother, Joe Gorga, amid the family’s bitter feud.
On Sunday, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star told fans during a panel discussion — “First of all, I’m living this journey and I’m all about family and respect and trust.”
The reality TV veteran added — “Sorry. That chapter’s closed with my brother, unfortunately. It really is.”
Teresa Giudice’s remarks came after she slammed her sister-in-law and co-star, Melissa Gorga, for allegedly spreading a rumor claiming that her now-husband, Luis Ruelas, previously pursued a romance with Real Housewives of Miami star, Alexia Nepola.
“My sister-in-law put it out there,” she told Page Six at the Las Vegas fan event, on Friday. “She’s the one that started it.”
Luis chimed in to add that people sharing the gossip were “thirsty for attention.”
The Real Housewives of Miami star also addressed the chatter during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
“Absolutely not, we [first met] each other in Barcelona — but I was with Todd — before [Luis] was with Teresa,” Alexia told host, Andy Cohen, when asked about the rumor.
Alexia, who tied the knot with husband, Todd Nepola, in 2021, explained that she bonded with Teresa’s future husband because they both have a child with autism.
Teresa, 51, and Melissa, 44, fell out after Teresa allegedly spread a rumor accusing Melissa of cheating on her husband. The subsequent blowout fight led to the Gorgas ditching Teresa and Luis’ August 2022 wedding.
Melissa addressed the messy family breakdown during a BravoCon panel, on Saturday.
“You know what? It’s hard,” she said of shutting down communication with Teresa.
She continued — “But I’ve come to a point in my life where, you know, you can try, you can try, you can try, but at some point you need to protect your peace and you need to create a boundary and I think that’s what I did and that’s what we’re doing.”
When the mom of three was asked how the stalemate will affect RHONJ Season 14, she said — “It’s very different from last season … because there’s not a lot of communication, so I think it’s different and better.”
“I think the fans will feel refreshed as well. I mean, weren’t you sick of it?” Melissa asked, referring to the seemingly never-ending rift.
After the conclusion of the Season 13 reunion, rumors swirled that either Teresa or Melissa would be fired from the cast due to the stubborn standoff.
In July, Page Six confirmed that both women would be back for another go-round.
“This is an amazing cast that delivered one of the most successful seasons in franchise history,” a source told the outlet. “Why try and fix something if it isn’t broken?”
A second insider said — “While it once seemed like the show wouldn’t be able to move forward with both Teresa and Melissa, it was ultimately decided that both women are integral.”
