‘The Family Chantel’ Pedro Accuses Chantel of STEALING $625K from Their Joint Bank Account
Pedro Jimeno puts his estranged wife, Chantel Everett, on blast in a sneak peek preview of the premiere episode of The Family Chantel.
Pedro accuses Chantel of draining their joint bank account amid the pair’s nasty divorce.
“Chantel stole all the money from the joint bank account,” he angrily tells cameras.
He continues — “I went this morning to try to get little things for my apartment and when they tried to swipe the card, the card said ‘Declined.’ I noticed that she swiped out everything, $265,000.”
Pedro then claims that his soon-to-be ex eventually turned the money over to the court after spending $60k, but Chantel shoots down his story.
“He was trying to say that I stole money but no, I didn’t,” she claims. “I did take money out of the account, but I was using that money for our divorce and the bills of the house. And then, I gave the rest to the registry of the court.”
Chantel explains that she withdrew the funds because she “didn’t know what he was capable of.”
She adds of her thought process — “I’m like, ‘I need to take this money out before Pedro runs off to the Dominican Republic somewhere and hides it.”’
Pedro doesn’t buy that Chantel is “paying all that money in legal fees and house in expenses,” labeling her explanation “bulls**t.” He shares his fear that Chantel is out for “revenge” and will likely push to have him deported by claiming a supposed marriage “scam.”
He notes — “From that family, you never know.”
Pedro later tells family members, via a FaceTime call, that Chantel “wants half of everything that’s left” and is refusing to sign off on the divorce until an agreement is hammered out. His family calls her demands “unfair.”
“She did you dirty,” one of Pedro’s relatives declares. “Don’t give her the money. Don’t give her anything.”
The popular 90 Day Fiancé alums met in person for the first time in Pedro’s native Dominican Republic, where they later got engaged. TLC cameras documented Pedro coming to the United States on a K1 visa, which allowed the couple 90 days to decide whether or not to tie the knot. Chantel and Pedro wed in 2017, amid family drama that eventually led to physical altercations.
The couple’s contentious relationship exploded as the season wrapped last year, and it appears that things only get worse as the bitter exes navigate a contentious divorce.
The final season of The Family Chantel will document the end of Chantel and Pedro’s marriage. The duo separated in April 2022, and Pedro stated that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” when he filed for divorce the following month.
The Family Chantel returns on Monday, November 6 at 9 pm ET, on TLC.
