Details About ‘RHONY’ Star Ubah Hassan’s RICH WHITE Man and Why the Women Should Be Jealous!
Real Housewives of New York City star, Ubah Hassan, made it clear that she wanted to keep her relationship with boyfriend, Oliver Dachsel, under the radar, after hinting at a secret love life while filming Season 14.
“He is very private because of his work,” Ubah explained during Part 1 of the reunion series, which aired on October 22.
Ubah made her first red carpet appearance alongside Dachsel, whom she called “Mr. Connecticut” on camera, a few days after the episode aired. The couple stepped out together to attend the 2023 American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Dachsel is originally from Germany and currently resides in Connecticut. He graduated from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Germany in 2006, according to his LinkedIn. The investment banker served in his native country’s military in 2001. Dachsel launched his finance career with Deutsche Bank in their Frankfurt office before moving to London after two years. He landed in NYC in July 2011. He has been serving as managing director of Jeffries since August 2016.
Ubah spoke to People during the couple’s night out, sharing more details on how she connected with Dachsel.
She shared that the two met “through friends” and have been together for “over a year.”
She quipped — “I want to say things like, ‘We met on Tinder or Bumble,’ but not really.”
Ubah first referenced her relationship late in the season, after the husband of co-star, Sai De Silva, David Craig, questioned why she was single.
Ubah quietly said, “I’m good,” while showing Sai photos of the new man in her life.
“Since David is so curious, I’m going to show his wife what is going on in my iPhone,” Ubah said in a confessional. “It’s very delicious.”
Ubah noted that she wanted to keep her new romance private because it was “very new” and she didn’t “want anyone else’s energy.”
“I just want to make decisions for myself, and Sai can keep a secret,” she said.
Sai did not keep Ubah’s secret, instead spilling the info to co-stars, Erin Lichy and Brynn Whitfield.
The following episode featured Brynn’s birthday party, during which she shouted as Ubah as she picked up a call from Dachsel — “Hey Ubah, I heard you got a man in Connecticut,” infuriating her cast mate.
“The whole thing was confidential so she must have heard from Sai,” Ubah explained in an interview. “But for Brynn to mention a part of that I’m just like b—- you don’t deserve a birthday, we should take you to McDonald’s drive-thru, and no fries for you.”
Ubah’s cast mates all gushed over Dachsel during the reunion, despite their bumpy start. Host, Andy Cohen, called Ubah’s beau “tall and handsome,” and the ladies agreed.
“He’s the most lovely man, really, and very handsome,” Erin said.
Sai chimed in — “He is so in love with her. He has sparkles in his eyes.”
Jessel Taank shared — “He is the perfect counterpart to Ubah. He is patient, he is loving. He kind of just looks at her like she is art in a museum.”
