‘Teen Mom’ Kailyn Lowry Finally Acknowledges Black Baby #5 and She’s Expecting Twins
Kailyn Lowry has confirmed her rumored pregnancy only weeks after coming clean about secretly giving birth to her fifth child.
The Teen Mom 2 alum announced her pregnancy during Friday’s episode of her podcast, “Barely Famous.” The 31-year-old confirmed that she was expecting twins with boyfriend, Elijah Scott, while chatting with Allison Kuch, the wife of NFL star, Isaac Rochell. Alison and Isaac are expecting their first child together, and the former MTV star announced her own pregnancy as the pair discussed their recent trips to Thailand.
“We were not even near each other, but what are the odds? And then I guess we both came home with permanent souvenirs,” Kailyn said.
Allison replied — “Wait, you came home with a permanent souvenir? Oh my god, why did I not know this? We both got pregnant in Thailand.”
Kailyn later explained — “I must have got pregnant right before I left and I had no idea. So when I got there, I was eating everything. My face was flushed, but I didn’t think anything of it because I was like, there’s no way. There’s no way I am.”
Allison later shared that she was surprised that she got pregnant so quickly, adding that she tracked her ovulation which allowed her to pinpoint her conception date.
“Well, to be fair, I mean, this is my … sixth pregnancy, like six and seven for me,” Kailyn revealed. ”And I’ve gotten pregnant when I’m not actually … like I’ve tracked my ovulation and I’ve gotten pregnant on days that were not my ovulation window.”
In September, Kailyn was photographed leaving her Delaware studio with a suspiciously large midsection, sparking new pregnancy rumors.
Earlier this month, Kailyn confirmed that she had secretly welcomed her fifth child, a son named Rio, with Scott. Rumors about the covert delivery had been circulating for months, but Kailyn refused to announce the birth of her fifth son.
Kailyn eventually confirmed the rumor on her podcast, and later spoke to People about why she kept Rio’s birth under the radar.
“I wanted to be able to tell my own story on my own terms and kind of share what information I wanted to share instead of being within a contractual obligation or storyline,” she told the outlet.
“I feel like it was ripped out from under me time and time again,” she explained. “I kind of feel like my hands are tied. People are announcing it for me and so, at this point, I might as well just talk about it.”
She added — “At this point, I can at least try to do it my way.”
Kailyn is also mom to Creed, 3, and Lux, 6, with ex, Chris Lopez. She shares Lincoln, 9, with ex-husband, Javi Marroquin, and 13-year-old, Isaac, with ex, Jo Rivera.
Kailyn seemingly hit back after Lopez, 29, appeared to shade her pregnancy in a since-deleted Instagram post.
He wrote: “There’s a bunch of morals of the story here but imma use like 2: The truth will set you free [laughing emoji] and stop doing s**t to ppl knowing you wouldn’t be ok if it was done to you…”
He added — “Also condoms.”
Kailyn took to her Instagram Story to share a series of text posts that appeared to point to the online drama.
Her first post read “Not a single scar on my heart came from an enemy. Read that again.”
Her second post read — “My side of the story doesn’t matter anymore. Life happened, it hurt, I healed, but most importantly I learned who deserves a seat at my table and who will never sit at it again.”
Kailyn and Lopez began dating in 2016 and welcomed Lux in August 2017. The former reality star announced she was pregnant again in February 2020, amid the pair’s on-and-off romance. Lopez confirmed he was the father shortly thereafter.
