Bravo SHADES Lisa Rinna in the ‘RHOBH’ Season 13 Premiere
Lisa Rinna might not be in Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but the producers didn’t miss a chance to throw shade at the former reality star in the premiere episode.
Bravo cut ties with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, Lisa Rinna, after a tumultuous Season 12, but fans have been wondering for months who made the call.
A new preview teasing the upcoming RHOBH season reveals a snippet of the story behind the cast shakeup. Bravo shared a clip Wednesday that appeared to confirm that Rinna made the initial decision to quit the show but it’s all smoke and mirrors.
The clip shows Erika Jayne seen arriving at a retreat hosted by co-star, Doris Kemsley, near the end of the sneak peek. Erika nervously approaches the venue alone as she says —“So I am walking in like a man on my own island. My friend is gone,” referring to her longtime pal and ally, Lisa Rinna.
Lisa Rinna’s alleged resignation email, which is addressed to Bravo’s parent company, NBCUniversal, and dated September 10, 2022, appears on screen.
The email reads — “I will not be renewing my contract and I will not be coming back to RHOBH. Thank you so much for 8 years!!!! All the best, Lisa.”
After news of Lisa Rinna’s exit broke, lots of fans theorized that she had been fired following her vitriolic feud with Kathy Hilton. However, fans might remember that Andy Cohen revealed that while Rinna did quit after filming the Season 12 reunion, she “immediately regretted,” her decision and walked back her resignation.
Cohen dished in his book, “The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up,” that the network eventually decided that Rinna “should go on pause” and “come back,” in the future.
In May, following Cohen’s book release, Rinna’s rep spoke out, clarifying that the mom of two was “not on pause.”
“There was never any discussion with anyone about that concept,” Rinna’s rep told Hollywood Life. “Her contract ended, and the parties mutually agreed not to engage on a new one. She felt her time on the show had run its course and she was more than happy to move on. And she still does not regret it.”
Rinna made appearances during Season 4 and signed on as a full time cast member for Season 5, in 2014. She exited after the conclusion of Season 12.
In January, the 60-year-old announced that she would be leaving the Bravo series after appearing for nine seasons.
“This is the longest job I have held in my 35 year career and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series,” Rinna said, via a statement. “It has been a fun eight-year run and I am excited for what is to come!”
The network stated at the time that the decision to part ways was “mutual,” but many fans believed that the actress’ messy antics, both on the show and on social media, led to her demise.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 premieres Oct. 25, at 8 pm ET, on Bravo.
