NeNe Leakes Faces Lawsuit Over $22K Unpaid Rent, NeNe Says Gregg Signed the Lease and He’s Dead!

NeNe Leakes reportedly missed a court appearance related to a lawsuit, even after receiving the necessary documents. Court papers indicate that the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star is facing a default judgment request from her previous landlord.

MPG-Sugarloaf has taken legal action against NeNe Leakes for unpaid rent related to her former Swagg Boutique. Court records suggest that NeNe entered into a lease agreement in 2017 and extended it by another year in 2021. Despite vacating the premises in January 2022, she reportedly still owes $22,900 in rent.

The landlord stated that they reached out to NeNe on numerous occasions regarding the unpaid rent, but she did not settle the amount. While NeNe once operated several Swagg Boutique outlets, they unfortunately shuttered after the pandemic. On August 16, NeNe was personally handed the legal documents outside her $1 million Atlanta condo, as per the server’s statement.

Following the lawsuit’s filing, NeNe commented, “Gregg signed the lease not me! He ain’t here.” Tragically, NeNe’s husband, Gregg, passed away on September 1 at 66 years old, following a prolonged fight with cancer. The latest court documents reveal that NeNe did not address the lawsuit by the September 18 deadline. Consequently, MPG-Sugarloaf is seeking a default judgment of $22,900.75, alongside $2,315 in legal fees and an additional $416 for court expenses.

Adding to the complexities, the landlord is seeking interest on the outstanding amount. In a separate turn of events reported earlier by RadarOnline.com, NeNe’s eldest son, Bryson Bryant, was recently taken into custody for Fentanyl possession.

Bryson’s arrest occurred on July 3, leading to a probation violation tied to another unrelated criminal case. As a result, he will remain incarcerated until the beginning of next year. Notably, during the time of his arrest, Bryant tried to mislead the officers by claiming he was his younger brother, Brentt Leakes. This deception added another layer to his legal woes, as he was subsequently charged with providing a false name to an officer.

NeNe recently opened up about her strained relationship with her former boss, Andy Cohen.

“I don’t feel like we were good friends,” NeNe shared with Bethenny Frankel. “My good friends, I go to their house or I visit their home at some point, so I never visited his home. … [We were] probably a little more than [colleagues] because I could call him on his cell. I have gone out with him, out on the town, and I’ve gone drinking with him and I’ve partied with him. … [But] I did not know where it stood. I thought we had a good relationship.”

Subsequent to their working relationship, NeNe took legal action against Bravo and Cohen, alleging discrimination. She asserts she was terminated after voicing concerns over her co-star Kim Zolciak’s purportedly racist actions.
