‘The Family Chantel’ Chantel Everett Throws SHADE at Ex-Husband Pedro Jimeno!
Chantel Everett appeared to throw shade at her ex, Pedro Jimeno, ahead of the Season 5 premiere of The Family Chantel, which will document the pair’s bitter divorce.
The TLC star took to Instagram Wednesday to post a meme that cryptically read — “Leave him like his dad did.”
While Chantel didn’t specify the person she was referring to, most fans believe that she was taking a shot at at her estranged husband. The 90 Day Fiancé spinoff previously followed Pedro to his native Dominican Republic as he investigated his absentee father, who walked away from his life when he was a child.
The popular 90 Day Fiancé alums met in person for the first time in Pedro’s native Dominican Republic, where they later got engaged. TLC cameras documented Pedro coming to the United States on a K1 visa, which allowed the couple 90 days to decide whether or not to tie the knot. Chantel and Pedro wed in 2017, amid family drama that eventually led to physical altercations.
The couple’s contentious relationship exploded as the season wrapped last year, and it appears that things only get worse as the bitter exes navigate a divorce.
The final season of The Family Chantel, which premieres in November, will document the end of Chantel and Pedro’s marriage. The duo separated in April 2022, and Pedro stated that their marriage was “irretrievably broken” when he filed for divorce the following month.
The pair was issued dual restraining orders around the same time, forbidding them “from doing or attempting to do, or threatening to do, any act that injures, maltreats, vilifies, intimidates, molests or harasses the adverse party.”
Chantel filed her own petition in July 2022, alleging that Pedro had been unfaithful. She claimed that “domestic violence” had occurred, accusing her husband of “cruel treatment” that caused her “mental pain.” She said in her own petition that “the marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”
The Season 5 trailer revealed Chantel and Pedro preparing to see each other for the first time in nine months. Pedro believes that Chantel’s family is determined to destroy his life in America, and Chantel vows that while the divorce has been “the hardest time” in her life, her ex “is going to get what’s coming to him.”
Chantel’s mom, Karen, declares that she will protect her daughter “by any means necessary,” and spills her plan to hire a private investigator.
“Pedro has really hurt Chantel, and I don’t think that he should just walk away scot-free,” Karen tells cameras.
Chantel travels to Santo Domingo to have it out with Pedro and his family, and at one point screams at her ex — “You know what you did, Pedro. You were having sex with another woman!”
The Family Chantel returns on Monday, November 6 at 9 pm ET, on TLC.
