‘Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown Admits She’s A Failure After Split From Kody

Janelle Brown, 54, began her video inside her trailer as she prepared “to put [it] away for the winter.”

“My first reaction is that this has been a failure,” Janelle admitted, sharing that she had spent minimal time in the RV over the summer.

She explained — “I just really really overestimated how much free time I was going to have and be able to come up here.”

The TLC star clarified that she was not letting the situation bring her down.

“We always want to beat ourselves up for things that we try and they don’t work,” she said. “We feel like, ‘Oh, I should have been smarter,’ but hindsight’s 20/20 right?”

Janelle, who noted that she had “learned a lot” throughout the process, revealed that she had used the summer months to prepare the RV for new family adventures.

“Maddie and Caleb and I and the babies will be using it more in the future,” she said, referring to her daughter, Madison, 27, her husband, Caleb Brush, 36, and their three children, Axel, 6, Evie, 4, and 8-month old Josephine Lee.

“I proved to myself that I could do this,” she pointed out, adding that “there was probably a lot of things I’ve learned, or confidence I’ve gained, even though I hardly used this trailer at all this summer.”

Janelle noted that it was important to “allow grace for when you have something that goes cuckoo.”

Janelle smiled as she ended her remarks, reminding her followers that “failing forward is still motion.”

The mom of six set up her part-time home in May, writing on Instagram — “The trailer is ready to go for the summer!”

She hinted that she may struggle to spend time in the RV when she added — “It took a few weeks. Some of it was finding the time to break away and drive up there.”

“Once I hit the road I’m ALWAYS glad I did,” she continued, “Some of it is the self doubt that still creeps in and tells me I’m crazy for breaking out of my routine and trying something really outside my box.”

Janelle bought the trailer in June 2021, calling her mobile home a “new summer adventure” after she was forced to leave her rental.

“The rental where I was living was sold and I chose an alternative path to trying to find another rental,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. ”Not only is the housing market in Flagstaff as crazy as where you are I’m sure, rentals are even harder to come by.”

Sister Wives airs on Sundays, at 10 pm ET, on TLC.
