Kim Kardashian has been photographed in head to toe Balenciaga less than a year after the brand came under fire for posting ads that featured young girls posing with bears with BDSM-style harnesses.
The reality star was featured in a fashion shoot for Balenciaga’s summer 2024 collection on Sunday. The look featured the brand’s 3D Molded Wet Dress, a shiny, black mid length dress with a corseted bodice and asymmetric hemline, and tight black stiletto boots. The 42-year-old wore natural toned makeup and her hair was dampened, parted in the middle, and styled in loose waves.
The businesswoman did not attend the brand’s Paris Fashion Week, despite posing for the controversial company’s lookbook.
However, Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, her partner, Corey Gamble, Paris Hilton, Charli XCX, Dylan Sprouse, Offset, Ashley Graham and other high profile names attended the Balenciaga show.
The “Kardashians” star was given a preview of the collection while attending Victoria Beckham’s fashion show over the weekend, according to a Page Six source. She went on to attend Jay-Z’s VIP charity casino night in Atlantic City.
Kim’s first official partnership with the brand since the November 2022 layout scandal comes after the reality star was seen wearing their clothes in April, during a trip to Paris. The future lawyer, who was traveling with daughters, North, 10, and 5-year-old Chicago, rocked a pink faux fur coat and high metallic boots, posting photos of the girls trip on various social media platforms.
The European getaway marked the first time Kim had been seen in public sporting the brand since announcing that she was “re-evaluating” their relationship amid scathing public backlash.
Kim tweeted in November 2022—“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.”
“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.”
Kim, who also shares sons, Saint, 7, and Psalm, 4, with ex, Kanye West, continued—“I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this to never happen again.”
She concluded—“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with — & the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
The fashion brand deleted the disturbing photos from social media and apologized for the “grievous errors” that occurred during the questionable creative campaign.
Kim reportedly turned down a campaign opportunity in 2023, after starring in two campaigns and walking the runway for the Balenciaga in 2022.
