Joy Behar of ‘The View’ Stuns Viewers with a Bold NSFW Remark About ‘STDS’ During Live Broadcast
Joy Behar shocked the audience of The View Friday when she made a lewd joke during Friday’s live broadcast. The 80-year-old blurted the raunchy remark as she and her co-hosts chatted about ABC’s new reality series, The Golden Bachelor.
The spinoff show follows Gerry Turner as he searches for love following the 2017 death of the 72-year-old’s wife, Toni. The reality show premiered on Thursday and provided plenty of hot topic material for The View panel the next day.
Sara Haines, 46, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, 34, gave the show rave reviews, gushing over the unique premise. Alyssa noted that she was happy that the show “leaned into sex” rather than hold back because the cast members are seniors.
Joy joked — “I think the word you’re looking for is ‘horny.’”
However, Sunny Hostin said that she was “horrified” by the premiere and called the spinoff series “thirsty and undignified.”
Ana Navarro then joined Joy to push the adult conversation even further, sharing that she was shocked to hear that viewers were surprised that people were still trying to date later in life.
Ana reminded the audience — “Remember, in Florida, there’s that retirement community… it is also the zip code in the United States with the highest incidents of sexually transmitted diseases.”
Joy casually added — “As I always say, nobody wants to hear the words, ‘Nana has the clap!’”
The host sent the show to commercial break after dropping the crass comment.
Joy has not been shy about pushing the live dialogue into risqué territory in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, the host begged chef and TV personality, Michael Symon, to take his shirt off during his scheduled cooking segment. Ana wished Michael a happy birthday when he took the stage before recalling how he’d marked the day the previous year—with a shirtless selfie. The show slapped the image on a large screen, and Joy reacted with shock before demanding that he prove to her that the image hadn’t been altered.
Joy pleaded — “Let me see! Is that real? Let me see! Can you show?”
Michael confirmed that the shot was the real deal but added—“I’m not taking my shirt off!”
Back in February, Joy made headlines after she fired a shot at Sara’s bedroom skills. Joy singled out Sara during a Hot Topics segment, after launching a discussion about how sexual romps could be considered exercise.
Joy said — “Well, here’s some good news for people who hate to work out. Sex may count as exercise. According to an article in the Washington Post, researchers found that sexual activity gets the heart rate going and can burn up to 130 calories.”
“It’s not like equal work either,” Sara told Joy. “I’m pretty sure Max’s fitness tracker spikes more than I do. I’m more of a receiver than a giver.”
Sara’s co-hosts responded in giggles but Joy went for the jugular.
“What she’s saying is you’ll burn calories if you just lay there,” Joy teased.
Sara defended her bedroom prowess, replying — “I did not say I am a dead fish. What I said was that he is definitely sweating and has worked out. I look lovely.”
