Voodoo, Demons, Divorces and Lawsuits: ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Season 8 Trailer Is Here!

The messy and ever-dramatic Real Housewives of Potomac are sashaying back to Bravo. Circle November 5 on your calendar, because this will be the grand debut of the show’s eighth season, dishing out all the luxe and lavishness of Washington, D.C.’s elite. Pop that popcorn and pour some bubbly — it’s going to be a ritzy ride.

The trailer is dripping with teasers of what’s to unfold and, oh honey, there’s a twist! A fresh housewife is ready to stir the pot and she’s not here to play; she’s here to slay.

The Real Housewives of Potomac teaser below is serving major nostalgia by mirroring the iconic intros of beloved ‘90s sitcoms. Think Family Matters, Living Single, and The Cosby Show. The cinematography and script transport us back to the golden era of TV, and we are here for it! The faux sitcom is cheekily dubbed “Potomac Proper,” and we can’t wait to see how it sets the tone for a season sprinkled with throwback charm.

The trailer opens with Ashley Darby toasting to the beginning of a new season, “We are all Black women and we are all going through our different things in our lives and we’re going to embrace that,” Ashley says. “We’re going to keep Potomac weird, OK?”

The clips showcase the group at a drag show, relaxing by a rooftop pool, hosting lavish backyard parties, and engaging in spicy conversations. All the faces from Season 7 return, including: Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Candiace Dillard, Robyn Dixon, Wendy Osefo, Mia Thornton, and Ashley Darby.

Based on the teaser, RHOP fans are in for a rollercoaster ride with plenty of tears, fiery confrontations, nail-biting tensions, relationship drama, and fabulous fashion from every housewife.

Introducing newcomer, Nneka Ihim. She’s the “new Grande Dame of Potomac.” Originally from Wisconsin and of Nigerian American descent, Nneka now lives in Potomac with her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim. Beyond the glamour, she’s also a practicing lawyer.

According to her Bravo profile, not only is she a counsel for a tech company, but she’s also founded a beverage business and is currently developing a dating app. And it seems she’s no stranger to luxury. Nneka proudly proclaims in the teaser, “My daddy is a rich b—h, and he made sure his daughter was a rich b—h, too.”

Nneka and Wendy clash after Nneka accuses Wendy’s mom performed “voodoo” on her.

“My mom worships our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” Wendy retorts, to which Nneka responds, “At day. By night, she’s submitting names to shrines.”

Following a sudden fire, Candiace chimes in with a jest, “This is the demons coming to get us.”

The drama doesn’t stop with Wendy and Nneka. The trailer also teases tension between Karen and Mia. Mia has some choice words for Karen, the 60-year-old from Spring Grove, Virginia, referring to her as, “an old dog who needs to find new tricks.” Karen, for her part, hits back, “You are the trick.”

It looks like a stormy road ahead in Season 8 for Mia. The trailer divulges a bombshell: Mia had once sought out a divorce attorney during a tumultuous period with her husband, Gordon Thornton. The strain between the duo intensifies, especially after a setback in their business. They were stripped of their CEO titles at The Joint Chiropractic, a nationwide chiropractic chain, following what Mia describes as a betrayal by her brothers-in-law, leading to their company account being frozen. As they navigate these challenges, the couple turns to therapy for answers. But the drama doesn’t end there, Mia seemingly suggests she might have married Gordon primarily for his wealth.

Robyn is also in the midst of her own storm this season. She grapples with the aftershocks of her husband’s Season 7 revelation where he confessed to texting another woman just before their second wedding in August 2022. For those catching up, Robyn and her spouse, Juan Dixon, who have two kids together, first said their “I dos” in 2005. They later divorced in 2012, only to find their way back to each other, rekindling their love a decade after. What a rollercoaster of emotions for this duo.

“I’m turning into a f—king villain,” Robyn says, crying, after apparently being confronted by the other woman. “I didn’t do nothing to y’all!”

Just a little over a year into their rekindled marriage, things seem to take a rocky turn. The trailer shows the NBA star, Juan Dixon, having some stern exchanges with Robyn. It’s clear that not all is smooth sailing for the couple this season.

“People always got something to say,” Juan tells Robyn at another point, slamming his hand down on the table as he proclaims, “I don’t care!”

Dive deeper into Nneka’s world and catch up with the returning RHOP cast in the teaser below.

Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Potomac premieres November 5, at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.
