Bethenny Frankel Slams Taylor Swift for Her ‘Over the Top’ Behavior as Travis Kelce’s ‘Full Football Wife

Bethenny Frankel took aim at Taylor Swift for her “over the top” behavior while cheering on Travis Kelce at Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs game.

The Real Housewives of New York City alum took to TikTok Tuesday to slam the pop star for “chumming with” the NFL star’s mom, Donna Kelce, in the stadium skybox. Bethenny sounded off after acknowledging that while she’s “not a Taylor Swift fan,” she has “tremendous respect” for the singer.  

“It felt like the Chia Pet of a relationship,” the 52-year-old businesswoman said. “Like, just add water. Like, they were together for 10 years. Like, she’s a full football wife. … She literally looked like she had been in a serious relationship with this guy for decades.”

Bethenny said that the 33-year-old superstar “gets really into the guy she’s with,” but noted that NFL fans are often “wary of newcomers.”

She reminded her followers — “It took a long time for Gisele [Bündchen] to be a football wife [to Tom Brady]. … Football fans are very tricky.”

“They like loyalists,” the Skinnygirl mogul continued. “They like ride or die. They’re not interested in people coming in for a short ride.”

Bethenny referenced Swift’s brief fling with Matty Healy, pointing out that the “Love Story” songstress was “on her tour with another guy … a couple months ago.”

The former Bravo star wrapped her thoughts by sharing the same words of advice she gives her 13-year-old daughter, Brynn.

“It’s important to find people that you like spending time with … but you’ve got to maintain your own identity and you don’t want to absorb your whole life into someone else’s,” she said. “You’ve got to keep your two feet on the ground and be your own person and nobody needs to save you.”

Swift’s fans defended the artist in Bethenny’s TikTok comment section. 

Many of Bethenny’s followers labeled Swift “authentic,” with one person writing — “I think she gives that vibe and cheers for all her friends and supports them. Watch her at any award show. She stands and cheers for everyone.”

Another Swift fan added — “I saw her be herself and who she is everywhere she goes. I would love for my daughter to be herself and enjoy herself everywhere she goes.”

Swift has also received gushing approval from the celebrity community over her rumored romance with the pro athlete. 

Hallie Burton tweeted Monday — “You deserve someone who invites you to work with them. It shows: They think you’re so awesome & they want everyone from buddies to the boss to meet you.”

Kelce spoke out about Sunday’s spectacle on Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast. He called the artist “ballsy,” adding that “everybody in the suite had nothing but good things to say about her.”

The 33-year-old athlete, who said that Swift “looked amazing,” informed listeners that he will keep his personal life private from here on out, because Swift is “not in the media as much.”
