‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Questions Utah Move Because She Wants a Romantic Relationship With Kody
Meri Brown struggles to break some big news to her estranged husband, Kody Brown, and his one remaining wife, Robyn, on Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives.
A released preview of the upcoming episode features Meri telling her friend, Jen, of her plan to relocate her clothing business from Flagstaff, Arizona to Utah.
“I need to let Robyn know because I feel like she’s the only one who’s really going to care and is honestly going to kind of have a problem with it,” Meri tells her pal, who had been running Meri’s B&B in the months since the death of her mother.
Meri Brown admits that her decision had caused her “anxiety,” but Jen assures her that Robyn will understand.
Meri Brown confesses that she’s also nervous about telling Kody of her business plan.
“I’d like my relationship with Kody to get to a place where we have a good marriage relationship, but that’s not where it is right now,” Meri admits. “And I feel like when I tell him I’m going to be moving my business up to the B&B, he’s going to interpret that as that I am done with this relationship and that’s not where I am.”
Meri, 51, announced that she and Kody, 54, were officially parting ways in January, after a 30 year marriage. The duo posted a joint statement on their respective Instagram pages.
The statement read — “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship. During this process, we are committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all the members of our family, and we are also committed to the continued healing of any and all relationships within the family so that we can move forward with forgiveness, grace and love.”
Kody declared during the December 2022 Sister Wives: Tell All that he did not “consider [himself] to be married to be Meri” Meri confirmed during her own segment that Kody was the one who “made the decision” to end things.
Fans know that Christine Brown was the first to walk away from the plural marriage, breaking the bombshell news on Instagram in November 2021, after a 25-year spiritual marriage. Kody is currently with his one remaining and only legal wife, Robyn Brown, whom he spiritually wed in 2010. Kody and Robyn legally tied the knot in 2014 which allowed Kody to adopt Robyn’s three children from a previous marriage.
Kody and Meri had been estranged for years ahead of their official split. In 2015, Meri’s scandalous relationship with an online catfish damaged their already fragile relationship beyond repair.
Meri and Kody share one adult child, Leon, formerly Mariah, who came out as transgender in 2022.
Sister Wives airs on Sundays, at 10 pm ET, on TLC.
