Kim Zolciak Hits Jackpot at Casino Amid Divorce, Financial Chaos and Foreclosure!
In the midst of personal upheavals and financial woes, Kim Zolciak found a reason to celebrate at the casino recently.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum struck gold during a recent visit to a casino, a welcome respite given her ongoing divorce proceedings and reported money troubles. Fans are left aghast, struggling to reconcile Kim gambling in a casino given the dire financial straits her notorious gambling habit has reportedly plunged their family into.
On September 11, Kim Zolciak shared an Instagram Story featuring her friend, Brian Brady. In the playful clip, she tagged him and wrote “Cha Cha Chibggggggg,” a jubilant mispelling of “cha-ching,” the iconic sound associated with cash registers, while Brian showcased several $100 bills to the camera. The backdrop of the story hinted at a casino setting with various gaming machines discernible, though not clearly.
Kim’s actions understandably raised eyebrows among her followers. Choosing not only to visit a casino but also to share the outing on Instagram during her messy divorce proceedings was seen as quite bold. Considering that during their initial separation Kroy Biermann had accused Kim of battling a gambling addiction, this recent post might lend some weight to his claim.
In the face of recent tumultuous headlines involving their financial woes and the potential sale of their family home, Kim’s recent display at the casino seems quite untimely. According to sources, Kroy has been earnestly trying to persuade Kim to consider selling their home to alleviate their financial stress. Despite these pressing concerns, Kim appears to be evading the serious discussions, adding a layer of complexity to their ongoing issues.
Last week, the former NFL star’s attorney, Marlys A. Bergstrom, spoke out about the situation, confirming that his client had been pleading with the Bravo alum to sign a joint consent agreement to put the house on the market. The attorney stated that selling their Atlanta property would enable them to clear their debt.
Fans know that Kim’s husband, Kroy Biermann, accused her of having a severe gambling problem that had left the large brood “financially devastated.” Kroy, 38, filed a request to have Kim psychologically evaluated as their divorce war heated up, claiming that her online gambling problem had left her “unable to properly care for the children.” The couple shares four biological children, Kroy, 12, Kash, 10 and 9-year-old twins, Kaia and Kane. The ex NFL player adopted Kim’s two children, Brielle, 26, and her sister, Ariana, 21, after the couple wed, in 2011.
Kroy claimed in court documents that the former reality star had spent “substantial time and marital funds on gambling and other games of chance.”
“The total in the marriage was about $1.5 million. She does it online illegally,” he claimed in court documents. “It’s probably been going on for pretty much our entire marriage, and it’s gotten significantly worse.”
Initially the Don’t Be Tardy couple filed for divorce in May 2023, and both asked the court for primary custody of the four kids along with child and spousal support. The pair dropped their petitions two months later, then Kroy refiled in August after a short reconciliation. He also requested an emergency hearing to ensure the couple’s $3 million Georgia home hits the market ASAP.
“If the court orders it then the court can enforce the order. It is taking control out of the hands of the parties,” Bergstrom told Us at the time. “And this is exactly what needs to be done at this point.”
The mansion has gone into foreclosure several times in the past, most recently in February when the couple defaulted on a $1.65 million loan. The auction was canceled a month later.
