Carson Daly Absent from ‘Today’ Show Amid Growing Concerns From Fans
Carson Daly has been MIA from the set of “Today” for more than a week, and fans expressed worry after the host remained missing on Monday, September 4. Dylan Dreyer stepped in for Carson during the morning show host’s regular POPStart entertainment segment.
Carson may be out of commission, but “The Voice” host remains active on Instagram, as he posted a YouTube video of the band, The Red Clay Strays, on Sunday.
He captioned the post — “Happy Labor Day listening” but didn’t address his extended absence from Today.
Fans were happy to see Carson pop up on social media and many grabbed the opportunity to question his lengthy absence, in the post’s comment section.
One user wrote — “Great vibe…A little cryptic but overall great. You are missed.”
Another fan said — “So nice to see your post, you’ve been missed. Hope you’re doing well.”
A third asked— “Where are you!?!?!! You’ve disappeared from The Today Show.”
Fans have been voicing concerns for the host as his spot on the daytime show remains unfilled.
Carson has been AWOL from the Today crew since August 11. Jacob Soboroff has been covering Carson’s regular POPStart piece, during his mysterious absence.
One fan took to X to ask the show directly about the 50-year-old host’s status.
The user asked — “Where has Carson Daly been?”
Another person commented — “They introduced a new Entertainment correspondent today with no explanation as to what happened. Hoping he is ok.”
A third echoed — “Where is Carson? We miss him.”
Carson has yet to address his hiatus despite the fan speculation swirling on social media.
Carson hosted a special segment ahead of his prolonged absence, which highlighted his eldest son, Jackson, during a PopStart interview with LL Cool J. He introduced his son as a “hard-hitting journalist” and a past “PopStart graphics assistant.”
Jackson asked the rapper to share his view on the progression of hip-hop, impressing onlookers with his impressive interview skills. Carson gave kudos to both his son and the musician, noting Jackson’s grasp of his favorite genre of music. He went on to say that he hoped that his child would pursue journalism over a potential rap career.
