‘RHOBH’ Star Kyle Richards Talks Separation From Mauricio Umanksy
Kyle Richards addressed her separation from husband, Mauricio Umanksy, during an Amazon Live session, last week.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who recently vacationed in Europe with the Buying Beverly Hills real estate agent and four daughters, Farrah, 34, Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23 and Portia, 15, confessed that having the spotlight on her bumpy marriage had been difficult.
In early July, People broke the news of the bombshell breakup, reporting that Kyle, 54, and Mauricio, 53, had separated.
The outlet’s insider said — “Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof. They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”
The power couple denied that a divorce was in the works only hours later, via a joint statement on Instagram. The statement reads:
“In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”
The news broke as circulating rumors questioned the nature of Kyle’s close relationship with country artist, Morgan Wade. Kyle denied a rumored romance with the 28-year-old singer, asserting that the duo was “just friends.”
Kyle and Mauricio have presented a united front in the weeks since cameras went back up to capture the marital drama for the upcoming RHOBH season. Kyle has stayed tight-lipped about the state of her marriage, but did respond to a fan who asked for an update on the situation.
“Um, we’re doing… You know, listen, that’s a very loaded question but, you know, this has been very hard to do playing out with so many people having eyes on us and being in the public eye,” she said during the chat session, as shared on Instagram by “The Real Housewives Zone.”
“Obviously we care about each other a lot. You saw [us] on vacation and that’s what I’m gonna share,” she added.
In late July, Kyle reacted to chatter after she was spotted out and about without her wedding ring. She insisted that her ringless hand had “nothing” to do with her rocky marriage, addressing the matter during an Amazon Live.
The Bravo star blamed her weightlifting routine after she was snapped without her ring, in February.
“That’s not why I didn’t have my ring on,” the reality star explained. “[That] will bend the ring, ruin the ring, and it hurts. I take the ring off when I’m lifting weights.”
