‘RHOA’ SHAKEUP? Peach-Holders Jobs In Jeopardy After WORST SEASON In ‘RHOA’ History
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is facing a potential cast shakeup but decisions have yet to be made.
Radar Online alleges that the Atlanta franchise could be headed for a reboot, but the outlet confirmed that “no decision” had been made about the Season 16 cast.
Producers reportedly know that declining fan support points to a new formula, but that doesn’t mean that veteran Real Housewives of Atlanta stars, Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss, will land on Bravo’s chopping block.
Sources told the outlet that a reboot “could be” a possibility, as the network is “always looking” for new faces to shake things up on the Atlanta franchise. Bravo is expected to wait out the season and the airing of the reunion before making any casting decisions.
Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers began to get nervous after reports alleged that the show was planning to head in the same direction as the New York City franchise — which recently returned with a brand new cast. Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan were replaced and fans have already drawn parallels between the NYC ladies and Kenya, Kandi, Marlo Hampton, Sheree Whitfield, Santa Richards-Ross and Drew Sidora.
The network had “made the call to recast the entire show.” The outlet also said that Bravo had no plans to bring back Porsha Guobadia or Kim Zolciak. The site noted that there was a chance that “one or two” peaches would stay on as cast “friends.” The rumor has purportedly unnerved the current group, as the ladies wait out the season.
“A major shakeup is coming to ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ Before the women filmed their recent reunion, they were told that they should expect a big change with the franchise moving forward,” a source told ET. “They hinted at a reboot like New York got, but it also could be moving forward with only a couple of the current stars. The cast is on edge about their future and has no idea where the network plans to go. Although their ratings are still strong, the network is listening to fans and their desire for a change.”
Earlier this month, Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie, Courtney Rhodes, spilled some potentially timely tea on Kenya Moore. The jewelry designer accused the RHOA star of mistreating the production staff during an unfolding cast conflict.
“It was obvious that Kenya was okay, because what you didn’t see was she was cursing production out,” Courtney alleged of Kenya’s reaction. “The way she speaks to production, it just makes me uncomfortable. On the Alabama trip, the lighting wasn’t bright enough for her, and she just tore into this young lady on production. I was just mortified.”
Courtney blasted Kenya’s behavior as “inappropriate.”
“That was so inappropriate, and that’s not right,” Courtney continued. “I don’t like that. That s— is not cool. You are not above anybody. I wasn’t really paying attention to everybody’s reaction. But for me personally, I was like, my friends don’t do that. You don’t treat people like that. People have rights. Bullying is not cool. Like, come on, stop. It’s not okay.”
