Kenya Moore Says the ‘RHOA’ House NeNe Leakes Built ‘Foreclosed On’ Because ‘She Didn’t Pay The Bill’
Kenya Moore hit back at NeNe Leakes after the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum dissed the reality show that made her famous. During an interview with former Bravo producer, Carlos King, Kenya was asked to weigh in on NeNe stating that she no longer watches RHOA because it’s the “house she built” and it “looks like it’s tumbling down.”
Kenya Moore gave NeNe Leakes kudos for her contribution to the show’s success before aiming some pointed shade in her direction.
“Yeah, she is a force all her own, you can’t take that away from her,” Kenya said during her appearance on the “Reality With The King” podcast. “She was a major force, multiplier like you like to say of real housewives.”
“She built the house but it got foreclosed on,” the RHOA star shadily added. “She didn’t pay the bills.”
Kenya Moore also spoke about the Season 5 cast going on strike because they believed that producers were favoring Kim Zolciak. She explained that producers used her to transition Porsha Williams on the show amid the cast balancing act.
“They went on strike against Kim,” said Kenya. “They cast Porsha [as a housewife] after Kim walked off, They didn’t know what was going to be happening with Kim so Porsha was the replacement housewife. No shade to Porsha, I’m just saying how it happened.”
The former Miss USA added — “That’s when they called me to come in and go to Porsha’s event and Porsha was very interesting.”
Kenya went on to praise Porsha as a worthy adversary.
“It was magic. Porsha and I together, we made magical TV,” Kenya said. “For all these years, not just season 5. It was just interesting to see the relationship go up and down, sideways, wherever it was going to go and it made for compelling TV.”
The 52-year-old made sure to emphasize that her arguments with NeNe easily beat her clashes with Porsha.
“NeNe is that girl – you just never knew where she was gonna come from half the time,” Kenya explained. “We became frenemies, we made magical TV when we were friends and we mad magic on TV when when we were enemies and she can give as good as she got. She was the ying to my yang.”
The reality star also confessed that she missed NeNe’s presence on the show.
In October of last year, Kenya surprised fans when she shared the same sentiment during an appearance at BravoCon 2022, when asked who she would like to see return to RHOA.
She said — “So you guys might not like this. Again, I’m gonna be the most honest voice on the stage. I’ve not always gotten along with her. I know that people are not in a good place with her, but NeNe.”
Kenya’s remarks made the rounds on the internet which prompted a response from her former cast mate.
The former Bravo star cryptically tweeted — “A glorified teacher’s pet.”
In a second tweet, NeNe wrote — “One thing you can’t do is fool the people.”
