‘RHONY’ Newbie Brynn Whitfield and Southern Charm’s Shep Rose Spark Romance Rumors

There’s a potential romance brewing between Real Housewives of New York City rookie, Brynn Whitfield, and Southern Charm veteran, Shep Rose.

Brynn Whitfield confirmed that she and Rose had connected via Instagram during a Sunday appearance on Watch What Happens Live. 

Host, Andy Cohen, asked Whitfield if she had heard from Rose after she described him as cute during a previous appearance on the chat show. The reality star only responded, “no comment.”

Whitfield, 36, confirmed that the pair connected online after Cohen, 55, revealed that Rose, 43, told him of his plan to direct message the Bravo newbie. 

“He’s very sweet. He’s very smart. Very sweet, yeah,” she gushed. “And it’s all PG. It’s, like, about philosophy and dogs — our favorite subjects.” 

Andy Cohen noted that Whitfield and Rose will have a chance to test the waters when they meet face-to-face in November, at BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas. 

Whitfield first teased that she had a thing for the charmer during a July 16 appearance on WWHL.   

“I have a little secret: I think Shep’s cute,” she revealed at the time. 

Andy Cohen appeared unsure about a potential love connection between the two Bravo stars, prompting Whitfield to joke—“It takes one commitment-phobe to know another commitment-phobe.”

Whitfield asked the Bravo exec—“What’s he like in real life?” 

Cohen assured her that Rose “is exactly as he appears” on the show. 

“Yes, I like ‘Southern Charm.’ I’m from Indiana, so Midwest and down south, we play it dirty,” Whitfield quipped.  

Rose let the RHONY star know that he had seen her fangirl commentary via a comment under the show’s Instagram post the next day. 

“Oh Well that’s certainly nice to hear. Thanks for thinking of me Brynn. I mean Andy could have been a little more enthusiastic about her brave (and accurate) proclamation.  Perhaps he knows too much. This poses a problem,” he wrote lightheartedly. 

Rose split from girlfriend, Taylor Ann Green, in July 2022 after a two year relationship. The exes were rumored to have rekindled their romance during “Southern Charm” filming season, earlier this year. 

The Season 9 trailer featured cast member, Olivia Flowers, informing co-star, Austen Kroll, that Taylor had slept in Rose’s room, as footage revealed the exes under the covers together.   

Austen, who had a rumored fling with Taylor ahead of filming season, told  Craig Conover during a phone call —“Shep and Taylor banged.”  

In November of last year, fans dragged Rose on social media after he claimed to have more game than Pete Davidson and Harry Styles. 

Rose tweeted in November 2022 — “Guess I’m an old f**ker. But i feel like if i walk into a room and these two guys are there looking like this, I have zero anxiety about trying to get the girl. I mean zero.” 

He added — “I know their resume is impressive. But 🤷🏼‍♂️ Strip away the celebrity for second. And consider it.”

Fans and followers responded by ripping into the Bravo bachelor for his remarks.  

One fan wrote — “Your ego alone weighs more than 140 pounds, which is just the 1 of many of your “attributes” that make these 2 men the better choice over you.”

Another user noted — “I’m sorry Shep, but you would absolutely have to worry. Most women, especially the age range you go for, are going to pick one of these guys. Almost a guarantee.”

A third chimed in — “Just throwing this out there…but maybe the reason you have zero anxiety is due to all the liquid courage you drink?”

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
