One person hit back — “I am a Jewish advocate who fights antisemitism. Jamie Foxx’s post was a horrifically antisemitic message rooted in classic blood libel and anti Jewish conspiracy theory.”

The user added— “He has 16.7 million followers. I’m not waiting on him to further expand.”

Another wrote—“Seeing someone like Jamie Foxx post antisemitic content is a sad reminder that Jews can’t just exist like most everyone else. There will always be people who hate us.”

Another follower perceived the post differently, explaining—“How did Jamie Foxx’s post read as antisemitic? (Rhetorical question). It’s so easy to think from your own experiences ..but literally as a Black person raised Christian in Texas as well I know for a fact he was talking about friends and followers betraying you not Jews.”

The 55-year-old received mixed responses after posting his apology, but many fans appreciated his statement.

One person wrote — “Glad to see this, big fan of yours and didn’t know what to think of this post, thanks for posting this apology and good luck on your continuing recovery.”

Foxx was raised in a Christian home and has openly shared about his faith and religious views for years.

“I grew up in church. I mean, church, every single day. Church, church, church, church,” the performer said in a 2019 interview with the Christian Post.

He also said that he found it “odd” when he was discriminated against by other church members because of his skin color.

The “They Cloned Tyrone” star added—“I think when that very religion, which is supposed to take us to a beautiful place, becomes a tool to divide, that’s where you leave people sort of [disillusioned].”

Foxx made recent headlines after suffering a mysterious health crisis. He  later took to Instagram to thank his fans and followers.

He captioned a video — “Thank u a billion to everybody… been a long road but all the prayers great people and God got me through….”
