Joe Gorga’s Contractors Retain High-Powered Attorney for $110K Lawsuit Showdown
Concrete contractors who helped Joe Gorga construct his dream house have hired a new powerhouse lawyer to battle it out in court with the Real Housewives of New Jersey husband, amid an ongoing lawsuit.
Joe Gorga and his wife, RHONJ star, Melissa Gorga, moved into their Franklin Lakes mansion in November 2022, after paying $950k for the property.
County Concrete Corporation filed their initial complaint in October 2022, claiming that Joe Gorga owed the company $110,972.58 in construction costs. They recently amended the complaint after hiring attorney, Peter A. Comitale, Esq., of Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman, P.C.
The Manhattan law firm’s website states—“Over the past 30 years, Cohen Seglias has grown from a three-attorney construction-focused law firm to a firm with over 70 attorneys across eight offices offering a wide range of legal services.”
“Our clients operate in the United States and internationally and in a variety of industries. We are committed to building success in all aspects of our practice- success for our clients, our people, and our communities.”
Law firm, Macce & Cresti previously represented the concrete company. New Jersey-based firm, Bio & La Racca Law Office, currently represents the Bravo star.
In November 2022, Joe was sued for $30,264.06 before the figure was bumped to $110,972.58, per a report by AllAboutTheTea.com.
County Concrete alleged in the suit—“Between September 2021 through January 2022 the plaintiff COUNTY CONCRETE CORPORATION provided materials to the Defendants. Upon information and belief these materials were utilized for various construction projects.”
Court documents stated — “The Plaintiff has attempted on multiple occasions to contact the defendants. The defendants have failed to pay the monies owed to the plaintiff for the materials that were previously provided. The defendants have failed to fulfill their obligations with the plaintiff. The defendants’ failure to do so constitutes a breach of contract.”
The company has demanded a jury trial to settle the dispute.
Joe Gorga denied the claims in his legal team’s response.
Legal papers read — “Plaintiff’s claims are barred by fraud. Plaintiff failed to act in good faith in this transaction and is barred from recovery. The parties reached an agreement for a lesser amount than alleged and said agreement should be enforced. Defendant Gorga was and is acting in his corporate capacity and there is no basis in law for the claim against him personally.”
Joe requested that a judge toss the case and award him legal fees.
The U.S. Sun recently reported that Joe’s former attorney, Alan Trembulak, was suing the RHONJ personality for $3,337.50 in outstanding legal fees.
The June 26 complaint claimed that Joe hired the lawyer in 2020 to represent him in a $6 million commercial real estate deal.
The complaint claimed — “During the period from December 8, 2020 through May 6, 2021, the plaintiff performed legal services for the defendant in connection with the transaction. On May 14, 2021 and June 9, 2021, the plaintiff rendered itemized invoices to the defendant for services performed totaling $3,337.50. Payment has been demanded and has not been made.”
Joe Gorga has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
