Jill Zarin Accuses ‘RHONY’ Production of Committing Criminal Acts At Bobby Zarin’s Funeral
Jill Zarin alleged that Bravo never received legal permission to show up at her late husband, Bobby Zarin’s funeral during a recent appearance on former Real Housewives of New York City co-star, Bethenny Frankel’s “Just B” podcast.
The ex besties recently reunited to rehash their past drama for the first time in over ten years.
Jill Zarin and Bethenny were best friends back in the day and the SkinnyGirl mogul even admitted that Jill was the person who landed her a role on RHONY. Fans know that the pair’s close relationship crashed and burned back in 2010, and that Jill later accused Bethenny of bringing Bravo cameras to Bobby’s funeral for “publicity.”
Bobby died after battling colon cancer, in January 2018. He was 71 years old.
Jill confessed that she felt left out after Bethenny hit the jackpot with her cocktail product line, during the duo’s candid walk down memory lane.
“The reason I was mad at you … is because I was hurt. And maybe I didn’t express it, I didn’t share it,” she revealed. “I was hurt that I was losing you and was being left out of everything.”
Bethenny reignited her feud with Jill after cameras followed her to Bobby’s funeral. Jill later blasted the decision as a publicity stunt, but Bethenny asserted that Jill knew that production would be at the service. Bethenny told Jill that Bravo executive, Andy Cohen, told her that she had agreed to cameras being present on that sad day.
“Andy said to me when Bobby was in the hospital he would have loved coverage of this,” Bethenny told Jill. “He then said, ‘Jill said you can bring the cameras to the funeral.’ That’s what he said to me.”
Jill shot down Bethenny’s story, firing back — “If that was true, would they need a release from me, to get my voice on camera? Do they have one? I will tell you, they do not.”
Jill, who denied that she knew that her sidewalk interaction with Bethenny would be filmed for the show, went on to claim that producers were counting on her to not sue the production company.
“If I tell you there is no release, you have to know I didn’t know,” she reiterated.
Bethenny came to her own conclusion, telling her former co-star—”What you’re saying is that I ambushed a funeral for f—— reality television. That’s disgusting.”
Jill told Page Six last year that any chance of a renewed friendship with her ex best friend was over, after Bethenny surprised her that day.
“She came with cameras [to Bobby’s funeral], which I didn’t know were going to be there, so that changed it for me,” she told the outlet. “Housewives came without cameras to pay their respects: Dorinda [Medley], Luann [de Lesseps], Ramona [Singer], all came [with] no makeup, no hair, you know, not glammed out.”
