Production On ‘RHONJ’ Season 14 Uncertain As Producers Scramble To Fix Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga’s Family Feud
Dolores Catania has confirmed that there is no start date to begin filming the next season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. The cast was originally scheduled to begin filming in mid August.
Dolores dished on production’s plan to kick off Season 14 at her BELLA Around Town cover bash, on July 12, revealing that producers had yet to set a start date.
“To be honest with you, that’s not totally 100 percent true,” Dolores said of the mid-August production plan. “Yeah, it’s not 100 percent. We don’t know.”
The reality star said that she planned to to travel to Ireland for the “fourth time this year,” when she was updated on the vague filming schedule.
“I’m going to Ireland. So if the show is starting, it’s without me right now,” she said. “I’m going the end of the month until the middle of August, so that’s where I’ll be.”
Dolores continued —”I’m going to a wedding for Paul’s family. Then we’re gonna visit his mom as everyone knows, you know, little Clare,” referring to her boyfriend, Paul Connell.
Viewers got a glimpse of Paul’s family when cameras followed the Season 13 cast to his homeland, where the ladies stayed at the 400-year-old Ballinlough Castle.
“I won’t be staying in a castle this time. I’ll be staying in a little cottage in a village with his mom,” Dolores shared.
The entire RHONJ full-time cast, Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudice, Jennifer Aydin, Margaret Josephs, Danielle Cabral and Rachel Fuda are all expected to return for Season 14.
Tensions boiled over during Season 13 after it was revealed that Teresa Giudice had been involved in spreading a cheating rumor about sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga. The revelation led to Melissa and husband, Joe, ditching Teresa and now-husband, Luis Ruelas’ lavish wedding. The drama carried over to the reunion taping, where Teresa and Melissa hurled insults back and forth.
The repetitive family drama turned so nasty that rumors began to circulate that Melissa would soon land on Bravo’s chopping block.
Dolores was asked if any cast members had doubts about returning to the show in the aftermath of the tumultuous reunion series.
“No, because there’s a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of unfinished business,” Dolores said. “So I wouldn’t expect anyone not to come back.”
She added that she wasn’t sure how the feuding sisters-in-law would film, as they’re still not on speaking terms.
“Until I’m in front of the camera, until we’re all standing in front of that camera, then I’ll believe [it],” Dolores said. “No, how about I’ll even go further… until we’re all on your TVs, then you can tell me we’re all back.”
Dolores added that she hoped that there could be more cast “camaraderie” in the upcoming season, acknowledging that taking “sides” had occurred in the past.
“I’ve always said time heals,” Dolores said, when asked about a potential reconciliation between Teresa and Melissa.
She continued—“I don’t see a big reconciliation between the two of them, but I think the time apart has made things calm down.”
“Speaking to Teresa, Teresa doesn’t wish bad on them,” Dolores added. “And I don’t think Melissa in turn wishes bad. You don’t get anywhere from wishing bad on people.”
