Garcelle Beauvais Splurges $1.5M on Dream Beach House, Yet Construction Remains at a Standstill!

Garcelle Beauvais is preparing to build her dream California beach house, after taking out a $1.5 million mortgage to complete the project.

The U.S. Sun reports that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has yet to kick off construction, despite talking about her plans for months.  

The reality star paid $765k for an 850 square foot cottage near the beach in Ventura, California on August 27, 2021. The land has reportedly been leveled and prepped for construction, but there has been no further activity on the property. The project appears to be paused, according to photos published by the outlet.

Property records revealed that the 56-year-old actress borrowed $1.5 million from BMO Harris Bank in April 2023 to fund the construction project. Bravo cameras followed Garcelle Beauvais last season as she revealed her plan to make her dream beach house a reality.  

“I want to go up. I want to have different decks. I want it to be modern. I just want it to be a place my kids can go and just have fun, create memories, and when I’m gone they can say, ‘This is really cool that mom did this,'” Garcelle shared, last season. 

Records confirmed that the house will be built in the Port Hueneme area, a small oceanside city surrounded by the city of Oxnard and the Santa Barbara Channel. Property prices in the area are typically more affordable than in areas further north, such as Montecito and Santa Barbara. 

The locale boasts quality produce stands from local farms, seafood restaurants, antique stores, outlet malls and bike paths. Special events include the annual strawberry festival and the Harbor Parade of Lights   during the Christmas season. 

Garcelle Beauvais plans to use the seaside house as a weekend escape from her $1.2 million home in Los Angeles county. 

“It’s really going to be little but I’m so excited,” she told her pals as she showed off her new property on the show.

Garcelle’s co-star, Kyle Richards, replied—”It’s yours, and you worked for it!”

Garcelle, who is mom to an adult son Oliver, 32, from her first marriage and  to 15-year-old twin sons, Jax and Jaid, with ex-husband, Mike Nilon, shared her excitement with RHOBH viewers, during Season 12. 

“I didn’t grow up knowing anyone who owned more than one home or even owned a home,” the actress said. “So for me, buying a beach house, it’s a pretty big deal.”

She later added—“I’m really proud of myself.”

The Bravo star, who is also grandmother to 3-year-old grandson, Oliver,  shared photos of the humble beach cottage pre-demo alongside her polished plans for her future 2,700 square foot two-story house. 

Garcelle lives full-time in a five-bed, five-bath home in Northridge, California. The 3,362 square foot house was built in 2019.
