‘RHONJ’ Casting News: Melissa Gorga In Danger of Being FIRED, Teresa Giudice SAFE!
Melissa Gorga’s days on the Real Housewives of New Jersey may be numbered.
According to a new report by The U.S. Sun, an insider close to production is claiming that Melissa may land on Bravo’s chopping block, as her sister-in-law and nemesis, Teresa Giudice, prepares to return next season.
Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice faced off during the recent RHONJ reunion series, only adding more fuel to their bitter family feud. Fans have been pushing for one of the ladies to make an exit, so the show can break free from their repetitive storyline.
The source told the outlet, “…higher-ups are saying if there’s no Teresa Giudice, there is no show. If anyone’s going to be out, it’s Melissa.”
The tipster added — “She could potentially be on the chopping block. From what’s being discussed, I would be nervous if I were her.”
The insider pointed out that everyone on the Bravo cast is aware that it’s “Teresa’s show,” and that there’s “no RHONJ without her.”
Andy Cohen kept tight-lipped when asked if Teresa or Melissa Gorga would be cut from the cast, during a May appearance on the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast.
He replied — “Well, we’re figuring that out right now, but I plead the fifth.”
Melissa Gorga admitted that her future on the show appeared uncertain around the same time, stating back in April — “I do not know what Bravo’s going to decide.”
She later hit back at social media critics while responding to firing rumors, commenting — “I’m not going anywhere… I like my job.”
Viewers called out Teresa Giudice after she tested Cohen’s temper during the reunion taping.
Teresa screamed at her sister-in-law — “I can’t wait to never see your f**king face again after today!”
Melissa countered, asking — “Oh, why? Where are you going?”
Teresa fired back — “You’re leaving!”
A source has since claimed that Teresa has “changed her mind” about filming with her rival.
“Teresa said that she will film with Melissa and she’ll just ignore her like she has done in the past,” the snitch dished. “At the end of the day, she’s not going to say no to her job.”
“She needs income to pay for her daughters’ college funds,” the insider claimed. “She wants to support the girls on her own and not use [husband] Louie’s money.”
Production was put on pause following the fiery reunion series, purportedly freezing all casting decisions.
“The show has been put on pause. There is no expected filming date at the moment,” the source spilled.”The cast has been told they have the summer off and that filming can pick up again at the end of August.”
Season 13 cast members did sign contracts to secure their spots at BravoCon, the network’s annual fan convention.
The source also claimed that while fans loved rookie cast friend, Jennifer Fessler, her fellow part-timer, Jackie Goldschneider, would not be asked back.
“She doesn’t bring much to the table,” the insider said.
The cast has reportedly been ordered to stay silent in regard to all casting or production updates.
“The gag order that was sent to everyone prior to the reunion airing is still in place. If anyone breaks it, they get fined,” an insider told The U.S. Sun.
