Nanny Faye Reveals Being in a ‘Real Dark Place’ Since Todd Chrisley Went To Prison

Todd Chrisley’s mother opened up about her son and daughter-in-law, Julie, spending time in prison during a Wednesday appearance on her granddaughter, Lindsie Chrisley’s podcast.

Nanny Faye claimed that Todd and Julie had been falsely accused of tax evasion and bank fraud while speaking about the situation with her grandchild.

“I always say that God is in control of everything. Everything is done for a reason,” the 79-year-old said on the Southern Tea podcast.

“I am in a real dark place,” she shared. “But I know that there’s going to be light at the end of the tunnel. And we are going to come out bigger and better because what they are accused of is wrong.”

Nanny Faye noted that she felt compelled to be the family “backbone” for her five grandchildren, Lindsie, 33, Kyle, 32, Chase, 27, Savannah, 25, and Grayson, 17.

The family matriarch also has two great-grandchildren, Lindsie’s son, Jackson, and Kyle’s biological daughter, Chloe. Chloe was adopted by Todd and Julie in 2016.

“I’m here to make sure that my grandchildren and those two little greats have the love that they need and the guidance that they need,” she said.

Chloe and Grayson currently live with their older sister, Savannah Chrisley.

Savannah, 25, gave an update on the minor children on her podcast, “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley,” in November 2022.

“I come home Tuesday, and I have custody of a 16-year-old and a 10-year-old, and we spend our first Thanksgiving, not as a family,” Savannah said, during the November 22 podcast episode.

Nanny Faye is confident that Todd and Julie will be vindicated, despite the couple’s June 2022 conviction. She compared the “Chrisley Knows Best” stars’ circumstances to the biblical account of Daniel being tossed in a lions den before being rescued by an angel.

“That’s what’s going to happen to them. And I believe it within my heart,” she said.

Julie Chrisley

Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of fraud and tax evasion in June 2022 and were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison. Todd, 54, was sentenced to 12 years at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, and Julie, 50, was sentenced to 7 years and is serving her time at the Federal Medical Center Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky. The duo was indicted in August 2019 for allegedly submitting fraudulent bank records to secure more than $30 million in loans.

“The Chrisleys have built an empire based on the lie that their wealth came from dedication and hard work,” a statement from prosecutors read.

Chloe Chrisley

“The jury’s unanimous verdict sets the record straight: Todd and Julie Chrisley are career swindlers who have made a living by jumping from one fraud scheme to another, lying to banks, stiffing vendors, and evading taxes at every corner.”
