Duggar Family Compound RAIDED by Feds Amid Criminal Investigation
The Duggar family compound was visited by police over the weekend as part of a follow-up investigation, In Touch reports.
Police were present on the property on Sunday, June 25, at 8:26 am, according to public records, after an unspecified incident occurred on the 19 Kids and Counting clan’s property.
The Duggars have had numerous clashes with authorities over the years.
Jim Bob and Michelle’s daughter, Jana, landed in hot water in September, 2021, when she was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, in connection to an alleged September 2021 incident. The 33-year-old pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge, at the time. She released a statement addressing the case in December 2021, via her Instagram Story.
“I prefer a more private life, but I know my last name means that everything we do is open to public criticism and interest, especially during this time,” she explained. “The raw facts: I was babysitting a few months ago when one of the children wandered outside alone. A passerby who saw the child called the police. This resulted in a written citation, as well as a follow-up with child welfare who concluded that it was an accident and the child was unharmed. They recognized it was a case of a child slipping out of the house when you turn your back for a moment.”
She went on to settle the legal issue outside of the courtroom.
The mystery home visit comes after Amazon Prime premiered docuseries, “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets.” The special explores the family’s connection to controversial religious organization, The Institute in Basic Life Principles.
Earlier this month, Jim Bob’s niece, Amy Duggar King, slammed the patriarch in a scathing TikTok video, calling out the former reality star for failing to protect his daughters, Jill and Jessica Duggar, from their abusive brother, Josh Duggar.
“It all kind of boils down to this, right?” King said in the video. “If you’re not going to protect those beautiful daughters from a predator that was living inside of your home and you knew about it, and you’re gonna sweep it under the rug and your mentality is kinda just to brush it off and to hide it and to lie, not only do I not respect you anymore, but I also don’t want to give you a right to get to know my child. Because I will protect my child at all costs.”
Josh was accused of molesting his underage siblings, in 2015. He is currently serving 151 months in prison after being found guilty of possessing and receiving child pornography. The 34-year-old filed an appeal to his conviction in October.
Josh was also ordered to pay $50,1000 in restitution fees, in addition to his prison sentence. The Washington County Clerk’s Office told the outlet that the debt remains outstanding, despite the order demanding that he pay “immediately” after his sentencing date.
Josh remains married to wife, Anna Duggar, with whom he shares seven children. Anna is reportedly “questioning their future,” per an In Touch source.
