Sutton Stracke Remains Neutral in Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton’s Sibling Feud, Refuses to Take Sides
Sutton Stracke isn’t picking sides in the sibling feud between Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star confirmed that she was staying neutral amid the messy family discord while attending the American Ballet Theatre’s June Gala, last week.
“I’m trying to stay out of family issues,” Sutton told Page Six on Thursday night. “I think I love them both dearly.”
Sutton Stracke continued — “I hope they work something out. I know they will eventually, time heals all wounds and they’re both wonderful women.”
“Since I’ve known them, this is the first time I’ve seen anything,” she added, referring to the sisters’ past issues. “I only wish them well and I know that they both love each other at the end of the day.”
Kyle Richards, 54, has been locked in a feud with Kathy since the most recent RHOBH season ended in conflict that carried over to the reunion and beyond.
Kathy Hilton partied the night away alongside the duo’s sister, Kim Richards, 58, earlier this month, and Kyle was nowhere to be seen.
The three women have shared lots of ups and downs over the years, but Kathy and Kyle became estranged after the latter helped create a show about their mother’s life, without clearing it with her older sister. The pair appeared to make amends after the socialite joined the Beverly Hills cast for two seasons. Their relationship crashed again after Lisa Rinna accused Kathy of trashing the cast, including her sister, during an alleged meltdown while filming Season 12.
Kyle’s husband, Mauricio Umansky, explained what initially sparked the family tension in his recently released book, “The Dealmaker.” He wrote that Kathy and husband, Rick Hilton, reacted with extreme “upset” after he left Rick’s real estate company to strike out on his own.
“He and Kathy held tremendous anger toward us, which is not the way I choose to live my life,” the real estate agent wrote.
The Bravo husband left his brother-in-law’s real estate firm, Hilton & Hyland, to start The Agency after Rick rejected his bid to become a “full partner.”
Mauricio Umansky, 52, claimed that Rick, 67, told him — “‘No, we’re not doing that.’”
“Naturally, Kyle was very hurt by their reaction, and it was a difficult pill for her to swallow,” the memoir read.
It appears that the siblings have turned a corner, according to a video Kyle posted on Thursday, which revealed the trio dancing alongside some of their daughters to throwback hit, “We Are Family.”
Kyle captioned the festive vid — “Pre wedding celebration with my sisters and our offspring.”
Kathy wrote in the post’s comment section—“ Such a beautiful night with ‘Our Family’ !!! We love you @whittlesdavis@Lukewhite.”
Meanwhile, Sutton, 51, who has been appearing on the show since Season 10, promised that Season 13 will be “really different” from the Season 12.
“I think this season is going to be really different,” the boutique owner said. “There’s a different energy to it. I think you’re going to see friendships develop, I think you’re going to see our personal stories come out more. We take an amazing trip and I think the viewers are really going to get to know us.”
Fans know that the RHOBH cast will be without Lisa Rinna this time around, as the actress announced her exit from the series earlier this year.
“I think she needed kind of a break and now it’s going really well for her,” Sutton asserted. “She’s shooting ‘American Horror Story,’ she’s an actress, so I think she’s in her element now.”
