Shannon Beador Talks Sparks Still Flying Between Her and Newly Single David Beador!
Shannon Beador confirmed that there were “zero sparks” between herself and her ex-husband, David Beador, after they crossed paths earlier this month, during a Wednesday appearance on Watch What Happens Live.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star laughed when she was asked if there were any “sparks” lingering between her and her ex.
“Absolutely zero sparks,” Shannon bluntly replied. “For the last five years if he heard my voice on the phone with the kids, he would hang up.”
The reality star snapped a photo with David Beador after bumping into the businessman at Orange County, CA restaurant, The Quiet Woman, earlier this month. The 59-year-old went on to post the selfie on social media and forward it to their three daughters.
“Sophie FaceTimed us immediately,” she told host, Andy Cohen, referring to their 20-year-old daughter, adding that twins Stella and Adeline, 19, were also “super excited about it.”
Andy Cohen also wanted to know if Shannon Beador believed that her relationship with her ex could improve with David’s estranged wife, Lesley Cook, out of the picture.
“I’m hopeful … for the kids’ sake,” the Bravo star replied. “We had the twins’ graduation last week and he said, ‘Let’s take a picture the four of us.’ So I did.”
Shannon Beador drew praise from her followers after posting the sweet family photo on Instagram.
One user noted — “What a long time coming and what a long way u all have come.”
Shannon and David announced that they were calling it quits after being married for 17 years, in October 2017. Cameras previously followed the pair as they worked to save their marriage after Shannon discovered that David had been unfaithful, and later documented the fallout from their eventual split.
They went on to battle over custody issues and whether or not David should be required to hand over spousal support. David called attention to Shannon’s drinking habits, claiming in court documents that her behavior was “detrimental to the children.”
Shannon moved on with her then-boyfriend, John Janssen, and David married fiancée, Lesley Cook, while she was pregnant with his child, in October 2020.
David and Lesley are in the middle of a messy divorce, and each has filed for a temporary restraining order against the other, amid domestic violence claims. They share a two-year-old daughter, Anna.
Janssen broke things off with Shannon in late November, after the pair wrapped filming the seventeenth season of the Bravo series.
“All I can do is repeat in my head what he said to me while we were filming,” Shannon said, at the time. “We were in a great place. But seven days later, when the cameras were down, it was a completely different story. He told me he was done with the relationship. And to hear what he said to me then was absolutely devastating.”
“I’ve never loved anyone more in my life,” Shannon continued. “I was hopeful this was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I wanted it to work out. I’ve never loved anyone like I’ve loved John. But clearly, he didn’t feel the same way.”
John told the outlet that while he “loved her more deeply than any woman,” that doesn’t prove that “we’re right for each other for the rest of our lives.”
