Kim Zolciak Fires Back, Claims Kroy Biermann is Fabricating Lies About Her Neglectful Parenting!
Kim Zolciak is hitting back, after her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, made multiple claims regarding her parenting amid the duo’s messy divorce.
Kim Zolciak’s lawyer released a statement to PEOPLE, in which the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum refutes Kroy’s allegations.
‘It’s really sad the way Kroy is causing our divorce to play out in the media like this because it could have a profound effect on our children in the long run,” the statement read. “To continuously spread lies in an attempt to paint Kim as an unfit mother for his own gain is harmful and incredibly misleading regarding Kim’s efforts to raise her children.”
The statement continued — “Kim has remained quiet through the divorce process thus far for the sake of the children, but with this most recent filing, she has no choice but to speak up. The emotional and mental abuse Kim has suffered from this man for so many years has taken a toll on her and, most heartbreakingly, their children. Kim has always been an extremely devoted mother to her children; they are her entire world, and she is always there to love and support them every step of the way.”
The 45-year-old added that she “refuses to allow Kroy Biermann to paint her as something she is not for his own gain.”
The lawyer’s statement concluded — “Kim looks forward to the day we can appear in court and solve these issues once and for all.”
Kroy was the first to file for divorce, on May 5. Kim submitted her own filing on May 8. Radar Online obtained a police report in early May that described a fight that went down behind closed doors, ahead of the filed divorce petitions. Kim and Kroy had been married for almost 12 years when they decided to call it quits.
The demise of the marriage was reportedly due to financial hardships plaguing the 11-year union. TMZ reported that the pair owed more than $1 million in unpaid taxes and penalties to the IRS, only hours before news of the impending divorce broke.
Kroy requested sole legal and physical custody of their four minor children, Kroy, 11, Kash, 10, and 9-year-old twins, Kaia and Kane. Kim requested primary physical custody and joint legal custody. The ex-couple also shares Kim’s adult daughters, Ariana and Brielle Biermann.
The former NFL star also filed a motion requesting a psychological evaluation for the Don’t Be Tardy mom.
The documents state — “During the parties’ marriage, Respondent [Zolciak-Biermann] presented very troubling behavior which has accelerated in the months leading up to Petitioner’s filing for divorce.”
Kroy claimed that his estranged ex “acknowledged spending substantial time and marital funds on gambling and other games of chance.”
Kroy also filed a motion in the Superior Court of Fulton County to secure a Guardian ad Litem for the pair’s four kids. The documents claim that Kim has continued to “direct, in a derogatory tone, abusive profane, and threat-laden language at the Petitioner with little concern if the children are present.”
