Shannon Beador Reunites with Ex-husband David Years After Cocaine Scandal
Shannon Beador and her ex-husband, David Beador, crossed paths Friday, and the once-contentious duo went on to share a friendly moment together.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star took to Instagram after snapping a smiling photo alongside the construction executive Friday night, revealing that they had bumped into each other at The Quiet Woman, an Orange County restaurant featured several times on the Bravo series.
The Bravo star posted the shot on her Instagram Story adding a hashtag “#itsbeenyears” and a shrug emoji.
The encounter marks the first time that David Beador and Shannon Beador have shared a cordial interaction in public since their bitter breakup and divorce. The ex-couple announced that they were calling it quits after being married for 17 years, in October 2017. They share three daughters together, Sophie, 21, and 18-year-old twins Adeline and Stella.
The show chronicled the pair trying to restore their relationship after Shannon discovered that David had been unfaithful, and the fallout from their eventual split.
“It’s heartbreaking for me and my daughters that this is the road that had to be taken but it’s the only way,” Shannon told People at the time.
“I felt alone in my marriage,” she added. “You can do what you can to keep your family together, but you have to have willing parties. You need two people to make a marriage work, and that just wasn’t happening in our relationship.”
Shannon filed for divorce two months later. She previously said that David was the one who chose to end the marriage. They went on to battle over custody issues and whether or not David should be required to cough up spousal support.
David called attention to Shannon’s drinking habits, claiming in court documents that her behavior was “detrimental to the children.”
“I requested Mrs. Beador agree to not drinking or being drunk in front of the children and the request was denied and in fact disputed that she even stated she ‘self-medicates’ even though the television clip of her stating it is currently on the Bravo (NBCU) website and was included and quoted on several media articles,” the businessman alleged.
Shannon was awarded $1.4 million and $10k a month in support, in April 2019. She moved on with boyfriend, John Janssen, that same year.
David went on to marry fiancée, Lesley Cook, while she was pregnant with his child, in October 2020. Shannon claimed at the time that a baby gift she had delivered to the couple was sent back.
David has since filed for divorce from Cook and in January, Shannon announced that she and John had decided to part ways. She spoke to People about the end of the romance and revealed that she was “blindsided by the breakup.”
Janssen broke things off in late November after the pair wrapped filming the seventeenth season of the Bravo show, Shannon‘s ninth as a full-time cast member.
“All I can do is repeat in my head what he said to me while we were filming,” Shannon said, at the time. “We were in a great place. But seven days later, when the cameras were down, it was a completely different story. He told me he was done with the relationship. And to hear what he said to me then was absolutely devastating.”
“I’ve never loved anyone more in my life,” Shannon continued. “I was hopeful this was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I wanted it to work out. I’ve never loved anyone like I’ve loved John. But clearly, he didn’t feel the same way.”
John told the outlet that while he “loved her more deeply than any woman,” that doesn’t prove that “we’re right for each other for the rest of our lives.”
Back in early 2021, All About The Tea reported that Braunwyn Windham-Burke was involved in a disturbing incident involving Shannon Beador’s then 14-year-old daughter, Stella. Braunwyn not only offered the drug to Stella but also went as far as trying to connect the teenager with a drug dealer.
According to an inside source, Braunwyn reportedly told Stella that she had access to the best drug dealer in the area, suggesting that she could provide cocaine if needed. Shockingly, at the time, Stella’s father, David Beador, was reportedly unaware of the distressing exchange that had taken place between Braunwyn and their daughter. David and Shannon were not on amicable terms during that period, which may explain his lack of knowledge about the incident.
