Ana Navarro Accused of Using Ozempic for Weight Loss After Dropping Major Pounds
Ana Navarro is addressing rumors that she’s using diabetes drug, Ozempic, to drop weight.
“The View” host posted a photo of herself on Instagram last week and received several comments alleging that she was using the type 2 diabetes drug to slim down. Ozempic is one of several names for semaglutide and tirzepatide, medications that work in the brain to thwart appetite.
One user commented about Ana Navarro’s trimmer physique—“This is the work of Ozempic!!”
Another person said—“Ozempic is working great for u😮.”
A third asked—“When are you coming clean that you are in Ozempic?”
The daytime host responded to the comments by sharing more details about her weight loss story.
“I’ve posted about my weight-loss journey many times,” she began. “I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life. The pandemic and menopause made it worse. In 2021, my mom died of kidney disease brought on by diabetes. She suffered terribly the last years of her life. That scared the beejeezus out of me.”
She went on — “Last August, I went to a wellness spa in Mexico called @rancholapuerta with two of my friends since grade school. We had all turned 50 and wanted to be healthier. I spent time there learning to cook and eat healthier, reprogramming the way I think of my lifestyle, and being more active. We did all sorts of exercise classes for hours a day. When we came back to Miami, we were determined to continue some of our healthy habits.”
Ana Navarro explained that she began working with a nutritionist and medical supervisor after discovering that she was pre-diabetic. The host also sought out pickleball and pilates coaches, joining health clubs in both Miami and New York City. Navarro shared that she was staying active by playing twice a week.
“So it’s been a complete lifestyle change -except for the damn rosé and margaritas, which I can’t give up. It has all helped me lose about 4-5 lbs a month,” Navarro said.
She concluded — “I am not equipped to give anyone advice or endorse any solution. We all have to figure out what works for each of us. It is a daily struggle for me. I still really like tequila and staying in bed with my poodle…🤷🏻♀️.”
Navarro did not confirm nor deny that Ozempic was her weight loss secret. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Kyle Richards, and OC “Housewife,” Gina Kirschenheiter, have both denied using the drug.
Last month, Shahs of Sunset alum, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, confirmed that she had used Ozempic to drop 30 pounds.
“I don’t see a reason to hide being on a weight loss [medication] or a cosmetic procedure, just talk about it because there’s so many people out there who want to do the same thing or they want to learn about what you did,” Gharachedaghi told ET at the 2023 Vanderpump Dogs Gala.
She continued — “Obviously, I didn’t look like this two months ago. So all of a sudden to lose almost 30 pounds, I would be a liar to say I quit drinking alcohol and you know all of a sudden started working out like some people like to say.”
