‘Below Deck’ Alum Captain Lee Returns to Bravo With New Show and Hints At Familiar Cast Members
Captain Lee Rosbach has announced that his Bravo days are far from over, despite enduring a difficult Season 10 on Below Deck. Fans know that a health issue forced him to step aside and that Captain Sandy Yawn was recruited to lead the Season 10 crew. Captain Lee returned late in the season amid reports that the current cycle would be his last.
Captain Lee recently dished that he was involved in a few new projects with Bravo, and that one would be “coming soon.” The fan favorite told Us Weekly that he was “nowhere close to retired” and remains affiliated with the network. He also teased that some Below Deck crew members might be in the mix.
“We’ve got two or three projects that are in the works. One of them should be coming out pretty soon,” he said.
Captain Lee did not spill many details but made it clear that Below Deck fans would be able to catch him in action, in some form. He did not clarify if he was preparing a television comeback or had a role in an internet-based project.
Captain Lee compared his new experience to his time on Below Deck, noting that filming the yachting series had become an easy routine, over the years. He hinted that his latest projects presented different challenges.
“I’m excited to do it. I really am. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve got some great people that I’m going to be working with. No, I won’t tell you who they are,” he teased, hinting that viewers might recognize other cast members.
When Captain Lee was asked if there was any chance of reuniting with former chief stewardess, Kate Chastain, he only offered a smirk, commenting — “you never know.”
Last month, the 73-year-old told The Sun-Sentinel that it was not his choice to leave the Bravo series.
“I did not quit. I did not retire,” he told the news outlet. “I was just not invited back.”
“We came to an agreement, and I’m going to be doing some things for them in the next year. Then, Season 12?” he explained. “I imagine they are going to see what happens with Season 11, with somebody new trying to take over for me, see how they do. If it’s too expensive for them, we’ll see what happens. If the numbers take a tank, would I go back? Yeah.”
He shared that a producer informed him that he would not be a part of Season 11 over the phone, which left him feeling slightly hurt. He clarified that he eventually understood the network’s decision.
“I guess I can see their point of view. They really couldn’t get a straight answer from anyone on how my health was,” he said.
Captain Lee added that Bravo producers were accommodating to his health challenges after he returned to wrap Season 10.
“Production was really great about it,” he said. “They got me a physical therapist down there, a massage therapist, a medic came in to stretch my leg every day. I had to have somebody help dress me. We did everything we could to make it work.”
