Falynn Pina’s 23 Year-Old Boy Toy Regrets Affair That Led To Her Divorce From Simon Guobadia

Jaylan Banks raised fan eyebrows when he revealed that he was taking care of seven people on his own — including his daughter, his partner, Falynn Pina, her three children and her sisters — during a recent episode of Couples Retreat.

Fans were shocked to learn that Jaylan was only 23-years-old and financially supporting the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum’s sisters. 

In a recent episode of the MTV series, Jaylan and Falynn sat down with a relationship pro to hash out their issues. Jaylan shared that he paid all the household bills and provided for seven people, at the age of 23. He admitted that the responsibilities weighed heavily on his shoulders, which prompted a response from critical viewers. 

Jaylan later took to Instagram to offer clarification, after seemingly realizing that Falynn was receiving backlash from his candid comments. He backpedaled on his Instagram Story, defending his role within the relationship and acknowledging that he knew what he was getting into from the start.   

He stated — “Although I love her sisters like they are my own. I put too much on my plate more than I can handle which is my fault and which led me into disconnecting mentally in our relationship.” 

He noted that the retreat helped him to learn how to “set boundaries” and to know “how to say NO.”

Jaylan added — “Another thing Falynn did help with some of the bills, it was me who would tell her no because I believe that men should take care of bills but one thing for sure wherever I lacked Falynn did pick up. Falynn is the mother of my child I will not sit here and let the media make her out to be this person that she is not. Together or not I am 10 toes down about that woman right there.” 

Falynn and Jaylan began their romance as secret lovers, while Falynn was married to her ex-husband, Simon Guobadia. Guobadia’s divorce from Falynn was officially finalized in July 2021. 

Falynn gave birth to Jaylan’s only child, Emma Sang, on November 26, 2021. 

In February 2023, the couple announced their breakup on Instagram, weeks after Falynn miscarried their second child. 

 

“It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we have decided to end our journey as a couple,” Jaylan and Falynn said in a joint statement posted on their respective profiles. “Though we love each other very much, we feel it is best to part ways. Our bond as family and friends will never be broken. We ask for privacy at this time.”

Instagram account @theneighborhoodtalk posted about Jaylan’s MTV confession and fans took to the comments section to slam Falynn for allowing the former assistant to take care of her sisters. Many users also theorized that Falynn was the person who pushed for Jaylan to walk back his comments on his IG Story. Some fans shared a belief that Jaylan was likely overextending himself in an attempt to compete with Falynn’s wealthy ex-husband.  

Couples Retreat airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm ET on MTV.
