‘Real Housewives’ Legends Rekindle the Spark in St. Barts for the Epic ‘RHONY Legacy: Ultimate Girls Trip’

Start spreading the news! Several iconic Real Housewives of New York City cast members will reunite for Season 5 of Peacock spinoff series, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. The news was announced on Monday, during NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation. The throwback cast appeared together on stage at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, to mark the moment.

Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer and Kristen Taekman wil all jet to St. Barts next month, to begin filming. Longtime fans will recall that several members of the cast visited the island during RHONY Season 5. Luann secretly partied the night away with Tomas Ribiero, a Johnny Depp doppelgänger, during the getaway, sparking rumors of a scandalous fling. Andy Cohen arranged a virtual reunion between Luann and Tomas in August 2020 on Watch What Happens Live, but there’s been no confirmation that “the pirate” will appear on the Peacock series.

“I don’t know, I think we’d all love to see the pirate again, don’t you?” Luann hinted to PEOPLE in January, in a pitch for the potential RHONY-themed series.

She added — “How genius would that be? An Ultimate Girls Trip with all RHONY alums? A quick little eight-day trip might actually open the door to some women who couldn’t commit to filming a full four-month show. And wouldn’t it be fun to go back to some places that we loved before, like Scary Island or St. Barts?”

The upcoming season will be titled Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy, giving a nod to the spinoff that Andy Cohen promised fans after the network decided to reboot the original franchise with a brand new cast. Contract negotiations fell apart back in January, which ultimately sunk the highly anticipated series.

In February, Luann was spotted reading a hard copy of Page Six’s report which claimed that the Real Housewives of New York City: Legacy was “dead.”

The spy added that Luann was “pacing back and forth at the bar” and “chit-chatting away” on her phone as she read the piece. The cabaret singer, who was wearing a black hoodie and white coat, continued her phone conversation while she ate a steak.

The outlet previously reported that the spin-off show had “officially collapsed,” after the network took back its offers to the RHONY veterans who were tapped to form the new cast. Sources reported that Bravo had no current plan to kickstart the revamped series. Insiders clarified that the project could be revived at a later date.

Luann later confirmed to PEOPLE that talks had “stalled on the series.”

“I always said, ‘Never count out the Countess,’ but in this case it’s, ‘Never count out the New York City Housewives,’” she told the outlet, in part.

Jill Zarin, who was originally recruited for the new show, later claimed that negotiations crumbled after she asked that all cast members be paid the same figure. It remains unclear if her demand was what ultimately led to the demise of the series.

Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy might not air until 2024, as Season 4, which filmed in January has not yet premiered.
