Inside Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s Surprising Living Arrangement As Divorce Turns Ugly

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are avoiding all contact while sharing their family home, amid their divorce.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and the ex NFL star have been “avoiding each other” while living together, Page Six reports.

Kroy Biermann, 37, who filed for divorce first, and Kim, 44, are still living together in their Georgia mansion with their four children, Kroy “KJ” Jr., 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kane and Kaia, 9, as their divorce battle continues to make headlines.

It appears that both sides will be fighting for their home base, because Kroy  has requested ownership of the house while Kim previously stated that she had no intention of moving out.

In November 2002, Kim took to her Instagram Story to deny reports that their $2.5 million home was under foreclosure.

“I’m here until I f—king want to move out,” the Don’t Be Tardy personality declared, at the time. “‘Til I decide I don’t want to live here anymore.”

The Alpharetta property landed in foreclosure the following February, due to the couple defaulting on a 2016 loan of $1.6 million. Kim was later able to strike a deal that canceled the scheduled March 7 auction.

The law office of Brock & Scott, PLLC, the firm managing the foreclosure proceedings, later confirmed that the auction of the home had been canceled. The terms of the deal were not made public.

The estranged couple’s split comes after a scathing report revealed that the pair owes more than $1 million in unpaid taxes to the IRS and $15k to the state of Georgia. TMZ dropped the bombshell only hours before news of the breakup broke.

“The money has been a huge issue,” an insider told People Monday. “The million-dollar tax [payment] was just way too much pressure on them.”

A snitch later dished to Page Six that financial issues were not the only reason for the couple’s decision to split, after being married for 12 years.

Kim and Kroy, who have since unfollowed each other on Instagram, have both filed for sole and physical custody of their four children.

TMZ previously obtained documents that pointed to Kim requesting primary physical custody and asking to share joint legal custody with her ex.

“She’s not cutting the kids off from Kroy,” a second snitch previously told PEOPLE. ”She wants him to be involved as their dad.”

A source close to the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum told PEOPLE that “everyone expects this divorce is going to get really bad because neither of them will give in,” when it comes to their four children.

“As a couple, it’s obvious that Kim has always been the head of the household,” the source told the outlet. “Because of that, this makes [the divorce] even harder for him.”

Brielle Biermann

“It’s really sad because he is a great dad,” the tipster noted. “With that said, they were both very involved parents and they both deserve to share custody and anyone that knows them would agree.”
