Whoopi Goldberg’s Controversial Behavior Ruins Special Event

Whoopi Goldberg surprised viewers on Wednesday when she ended The View prematurely.

The talk show panel celebrated “Teacher Appreciation Week,” on Wednesday’s broadcast, kicking off the discussion by agreeing that paying teachers more would be the best way to appreciate all they do.

The ladies then welcomed some teachers to the show, including one educator who had been teaching for forty years. Whoopi shut down the episode early, after the segment went on for over 15 minutes. The teacher was awarded a cruise about 54 minutes into the show, before Whoopi began to wrap the episode.

“Is that the real one?” Whoopi asked someone off-camera, before signing off.

She said — “Thanks everyone for coming. Thanks for watching.”

“We’ll see you tomorrow,” Whoopi shouted over the audience. “Have a great day, everybody. Take a little time to enjoy the view.”

The camera remained focused on Whoopi and the teacher during the host’s awkward exit. The show went on to air a series of commercials that lasted five minutes.

It wasn’t long before fans were chattering on social media about the early sign-off.

One fan tweeted — “Whoopi ended the show about 5 minutes too early. Lol @TheView #TheView.”

Another wrote — “Nice way to end the show! And Whoopi ending it kinda early! But I kinda just thought that was all they had left. #theview,”

A third asked — “Did Whoopi just end the show like really early? #TheView.”

This wasn’t the first time that Whoopi lost track of time during the live show. A producer had to step in during Tuesday’s broadcast after the 67-year-old turned to the off-camera pro for help. The host was ending a segment about Sesame Street when she reached out to the producer.

Whoopi said — “It’s one of the great things that Sesame Street did for adults. It reminded us that kids are people too, and go through the same kind of stuff. And nobody does it better for kids than Sesame Street.”

After checking her notes, Whoopi suddenly asked someone off-camera—”Is this an actual wrap or is this a wrap to go somewhere else?”

A camera shifted over to a producer, who confirmed to Whoopi that it was an “actual wrap,” clearing up the confusion.

The other panelists laughed as Whoopi signed off after quickly running through her goodbyes.

Last week, Whoopi weighed in on the affair scandal unfolding on Bravo series, Vanderpump Rules, blasting Tom Sandoval for stepping out on his girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, with Raquel Leviss.

Whoopi Goldberg went on a tear over the affair drama dubbed “Scandoval,” calling Tom Sandoval a “bonehead” for his actions. The ladies also discussed the fact that Tom and Ariana shared a home together, prompting Sunny Hostin to declare that if she were in Ariana’s position, she would make it unbearable for Sandoval to be in the same space.

Whoopi chimed in—“Why not just take your stuff and say, ‘You know what? Let me go over here where the clean air is.’”
