Melissa Gorga Blames TreHuggers For Being on the ‘RHONJ’ Chopping Block
Melissa Gorga isn’t sure that she’ll be returning to the Real Housewives of New Jersey next season and she believes TreHuggers are to blame.
Rumors that Melissa Gorga might land on Bravo’s chopping block began swirling after she was involved in a series of run-ins with Bravo executive and Watch What Happens Live host, Andy Cohen.
Last month, Cohen mentioned the possibility of Melissa resolving her issues with sister-in-law and co-star, Teresa Giudice, at the upcoming Season 13 reunion.
“That’s fair because you’re not a therapist, right? You’re not certified,” Melissa snapped at Cohen.
“OK, well, let’s not question my credentials,” Cohen fired back.
Melissa pressed — “I’m just saying — I don’t know, are you?”
“No, but after 16 years of f–king doing this, I think I have some idea of what I’m doing,” Cohen hit back.
Cast member, Jennifer Aydin, and RHONJ alum, Kim DePaola, had plenty to say about the potential cast shakeup.
Jennifer spoke to the U.S. Sun about Melissa’s seemingly shaky future on the series.
“I don’t ever want to see anyone be fired from their job,” Jennifer said. “I’m not the boss. I don’t make the rule on if they want them back or not back- whatever Bravo wants, Bravo gets. I’m a very good employee, and I will work with all of my co-workers, please know that!”
She added — “Nobody gets fired! But I trust Bravo knows what they’re doing.”
Kim DePaola commented that Melissa and Joe would be “lucky if they get another season.”
Kim added — “I think Teresa is so cemented in [Bravo] that nobody could ever steal her spotlight. She is the queen of Bravo. There is no one that Bravo has given more power to than Teresa. She has [an] enormous amount of power,” hinting that Teresa could be in the driver’s seat when it comes to Melissa’s spot on the Jersey cast.
While Season 14 casting decisions won’t be announced until later this year, Melissa admitted that she was not sure if she’d be invited back.
“I do not know what Bravo’s going to decide. I have no idea,” the Bravo star told the U.S. Sun while attending the Second Chance Rescue’s 3rd Annual Rescue Ball in New York City, last week.
Melissa, who denied that her sister-in-law had “the power” to have her cut from the cast, blamed Teresa’s super-fans for creating the cheating rumor that circulated during Season 13.
“I do not. I mean, I think that the Tre [Huggers] started the rumor, and people went with it, which is crazy to me,” Melissa said.
“I think this season is brutal. It’s been brutal, and it’s very hard for me to watch. It’s hard for Joe to watch,” she continued.“It’s just been a very sad season for us, and it’s one of those things where some things are out of your control.”
“At this point, we’re just rolling with the punches,” Melissa added.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Tuesdays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
