Mama June’s Husband Says He Regrets Marrying The Reality Star
The honeymoon’s over for Mama June Shannon and Justin Stroud in the upcoming season of Mama June: Family Crisis. Justin, who tied the knot with June in March 2023, opens up about his real feelings about the marriage, in a preview clip of the premiere episode.
“This ain’t how I wanted this to go, like, this whole marriage, you know” Justin tells June, whom he wed after dating for 6 months. “And how it went down, like, that’s not what I wanted. Like that’s not how I wanted it to go.”
June and Justin made it official on May 23, 2022, in a Georgia courthouse, two months after the pair was spotted ring shopping in Alabama. The duo exchanged vows a second time in February, celebrating with an intimate oceanfront ceremony, in Florida.
The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum first dished about her new beau in October 2021, when she posted a video spotlighting Justin’s new tattoo. June, 43, didn’t identify Justin, 35, but thanked the artist for inking her “new boo.”
Justin and June clash over their life decision in the upcoming season of the WE tv series.
June tells her husband — “You were at the courthouse and signed the papers too.”
Justin claims that he only agreed to the marriage because “you asked me in jail.”
“But you were OK with that,” June replies.
“Not really,” Justin says.
The auto mechanic explains — “To be honest with you, I was emotionally messed up. I was going through some things. Life isn’t where I wanted to be at that point. You know, I just got out of rehab not too long before that. And just I wasn’t emotionally in it, June.”
June admits that she’s concerned that her new husband might not be “emotionally into me.”
“You knew when you got hooked up with me that I was f—ing blind,” June goes on, referring to her legal blindness. “Now I’m having all these medical issues so you’re like, ‘Oh let’s back out.’ What the f—? Are you like, you brought me to breakfast to tell me you want a divorce?”
June’s eyesight was damaged after cataracts were left untreated during her childhood years.
In June 2022, June explained that Justin offered stability after several rollercoaster years of drug addiction and family strife.
“It’s been amazing like you know, he’s helped put the pieces back together,” she told The Sun.
June gushed over her new love and praised Justin’s attentiveness.
June said — “He would send these sweet messages saying, ‘Hey, how are you doing? Hope you are having an amazing day.’ Noticing the little stuff, that’s what made me fall for Justin.”
“Justin is an amazing person and he understands everything I’ve been going through. I’ve been able to share stuff with him that I’ve never been able to share with other people- not even my kids and so it’s really nice to have that partnership,” the WE tv star told the outlet.
June checked into a hospital in September, after experiencing headaches and dizziness. The mom of four had previously undergone a gastric bypass procedure and a tummy tuck in an effort to lose weight.
Mama June: Family Crisis premieres Friday at 9 pm ET on WE tv.
