GMA’s Robin Roberts Replaced by By Weekend Host
Robin Roberts was absent from her Good Morning America hosting spot on Monday, after revealing her latest endeavor. Kristen Walker stepped in for Robin at GMA news desk, taking her place between co-hosts, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos.
The daytime anchor was also absent on Friday, as Juju Chang, 57, filled in for the 62-year-old.
Robin Roberts revealed last week that she was scheduled to present an award at Morningside University, her father’s alma mater.
The Iowa university tweeted out the update last Tuesday.
They wrote above a photo of the GMA host — “Tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m., @RobinRoberts will be on campus to present the 2023 Waitt Lecture in Eppley Auditorium as part of the inauguration of @MsidePresident. The event is free and open to the public. Fun fact: Robin Roberts father Col. Lawrence Roberts was a Mside alum!”
Robin Roberts shared the tweet writing — “Looking forward to returning my beloved father’s alma mater….and being a part of a special evening in Sioux City.”
Robin was absent from the GMA set the previous week and was replaced by Eva Pilgrim. She soon took to Instagram to update fans and followers on her whereabouts.
Robin teased that she had traveled to her “special place,” alongside a lovely photo of a Key West, Florida sunset. She added the tagline “TGIF.”
She included a photo of herself and her team standing in the tropical paradise.
Robin captioned the post — “Great way to thank my fabulous Team RR. Treating them and their significant others to our happy place.”
She gave a shout-out to her partner, Amber Laign, writing — “Sweet Amber took the pic.”
Robin later posted a collection of images of the team cruising through water after traveling on two separate tikis.
She gushed alongside a sunset snap — “Oh what a night.”
Earlier this month, the daytime host revealed that she had jetted to California after a week she called “especially challenging.”
The GMA personality later took to Instagram to share how she was handling the stress.
Robin posted a pic of a Palm Springs, California resort, which featured an umbrella and chair set against a beautiful mountain backdrop.
She captioned the snap of her escape — “Saturday Serenity.”
One fan wrote in the post’s comment section — “Welcome to my wonderful town, Robin!”
Another person said — “Yes it’s a beautiful weekend here in the desert enjoy your stay and the beautiful views. So excited to know you’re so close!”
